Now that it's about midseason, wanted to post this thread for comments the remainder of the season.

I follow NCSU and they have struggled.

A few years ago NC State brought in a recruiting coordinator who said he wouldn't just recruit the best players in the state, but the best in the country. how's that working out?

I think they have some stars on that team that haven't been given a chance to shine yet...

Personally I feel NCSU should recruit North Carolina more. I love the Pack but we miss on too many.

The biggest problem that NC State has had and will continue to have to overcome is their horrible reputation with their in-state recruiting. Throughout the years they have offended many recruits and have arrogantly dismissed others. It's their own fault and will take many years to overcome......or a changing of the staff.

I agree with Braves as far as NC State, instate recruiting. I believe a lot of the big instate D1 schools are missing out on the outstanding talent that is spreaded out all over this state. The positive to this is if the smaller D1 schools " UNCW, High Point, UNCG, Charlotte, Elon, App State" hit the recruiting trail hard they will and can catch the bigger schools in Baseball. ECU does a great job of getting in-State players, though personally i wouldn't consider them a small D1 school.

    But...

I agree but I will also say that 6 of the kids making a major impact on ECU's season this year are from out of state.

I agree with you 100%. However when I bring this up around NCSU people that matter they tell me I am full of it. Anytime I mention certain showcase programs and their kids they blow it off claiming they are over-rated. And some may be, but a lot are not. Just ask unc. Instead we run off and sign some kids out of the midwest that play 5 months a year.

NCSU82 would know. He played there and has recently been through the recruiting cycle.

There are some very talented players on the NCSU roster and alot of them are homegrown. We just need more of them. As a long time fan of the Wolfpack I believe that the only way to fix the recruiting problems is an entire new coaching staff.
