Geese control has become a major problem in US and other countries. I am also in search for effective solution to geese control. I know about some basic solutions like dog, music, etc.... but the basic solutions work for short time only and I don't think that everyday we have spend our precious time behind all this activities. So, I am looking for permanent solution. In my previous reply I share the information which I used to keep geese away from my home and working place.

Your valuable suggestions on how to keep geese away from home and our working place are always welcome. I don't want to kill them I just want them away from our home and working place.

I have got one suggestion on geese control for lake front property owner.
Put wire around the ponds about 10" off the ground. It's more effective and cheapest way to keep them away from your home and garden.

As I mention in my previous post that, Put wire around the ponds about 10" off the ground. It's more effective and cheapest way to keep geese away from your home and garden. But it's work for only baby geese. So if is there any other option available then please share that information with me.

Although there are many commercial Geese repellents, and the use of lasers, noise, grape kool aid, decoys...and hunters; the only DIY remedy that sounded interesting was this: Fishing line about 4 inches off the ground, they can't step over it.

I imagine this was similar to the 10" wire crossing you mentioned, but it it appears to work.

    New concession item

For those who use the 12 gauge.

    WILD GOOSE STEW
2 wild geese (or other wild game)
    1 tsp. salt
    Pepper
    1 1/2 sticks butter
    1 pkg. onion soup mix
    2 c. boiling water
    2 c. diced carrots
    1 c. diced celery
8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced (or 2 - 4 oz. canned mushrooms)
    1 chopped onion
    3 cans mushroom soup
    1 can water

Debone the geese and cut into pieces. Brown the meat in 1/2 stick butter; season with salt and pepper. Prepare the soup mix and water as instructed on the package. Saute the carrots, celery, onion and mushrooms in 1 stick butter. Combine all into a kettle, add the mushroom soup and water; simmer about 2 hours. No one will guess that they are eating wild geese!

    Get home field advantage

Braves is on to something. Go a step further and put out feed the night before games on third base side of infield. Come game time - start laying down the bunts.
