    South Granville takes two against Granville Central

    South Granville swept a DH with new county rival Granville Central, who has a talented but very young squad (1st year varsity team). SG won 16-2 and 18-0.

    In game 1, Will Bullock struck out 9 and walked none in 4 IP, allowing two unearned runs. Josh Darroch 2-3, 2B, 3 RBI
    Clarence Peace 2-2, HR, 4 RBI
    Cory Hicks 2-2, 3 RBI
    Bill James took the loss for GC.

    In game 2, Chris Riley earned his first victory of the year with 3 shoutout innings of work. Riley 2-4, 3 RBI

Person answered in the second as Christian Dickens scored on a bases loaded walk and Tyler Cothran scored on a single by Trey Davis. Stephen Wright pitched a gem allowing 6 hits and had 8 K's and 0 BB for Person. Person played solid defense, committed 0 errors.

    ... and some days he eats you!

    Northwood looked tired and somewhat out of focus in a 10-0 loss to Asheboro in the Copperheads Invitational. Four games in six days and good pitching by Asheboro put a stop to the Charger offense. Errors were costly on the offensive side.

    Beach Diamond Invitational Championship

    West Brunswick 7
    Southern Alamance 6

    Great game and atmosphere for the championship. If you have not seen West Brunswick play, I would recommend it. They can really hit up and down the lineup. They have 10 seniors and good arms on the mound. I think they will be a real force come playoff time.

    Southern is now 11-4, 5-0 on the season. Big game next Tuesday at Oxford Webb who is also 5-0 in conference.
