Yeah Dawgswood, you couldn't possible be from around here and not realize the importance of this one game. I'm still in shock that whan I awoke the next day the sun was still shining.

I don't how this one single game between two great teams could be SO important. So SWR beat AC. And? Did the victory help assure them a conference championship. Did this victory propel them further towards gaining the coveted state title that each team is pursuing?

In a little over a month from now, this game will be a long forgotten footnote to the season.

Good Luck to both squads as they pursue their goal of a 3A and 4A state title.

In my opinion, there is way to much credence placed on a lower classified school beating a higher classified school. I could see that more in football, but not in girls softball. I'd actually like to see the 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A state champs all play a 4 team tourney at the end of each season. That would extremely fun and exciting to watch.

    FINAL4

That would be great. Would the NC Assoc say it costs to much money or come up with some type of excuse to not have it. Just like college football playoff system........ In Indiana, remember Hoosiers. They used to have only 1 state champ in basketball. I think they have changed now. But the idea of 1 state champ in girls softball. NC high school track and field used to be this way, a 1 day state final, but then the bigger schools really dominated..... But 1a 2a 3a 4a winners all playing each other, could also work in basketball. NC version of the FINAL4. That's a workable idea and settle these type situations. Could Butler have went on to win that last year????

    Be careful

If you want to discuss the game that's fine! Criticizing a school, coach, player, or umps will not be tolerated here. Future post of this nature will be removed.

    Rivalry?

Sorry if this is a silly question (I don't know either team or any of the girls) but is there some kind of rivalry between SWR and AC? Do they play every year? Just trying to understand why some of the posters are getting so caught up in this. There seems to be a lot of annomosity against AC for some reason. Maybe it was just everyone talking about how good they were and picking them to win big???

Congrats to SWR for getting it done on the field.

    Have to do it

All the bashing, angry verbiage, etc. is taking away from the great game and wonderful effort put in by both teams! All the girls played hard, gave their best, and SWR won this round as they scored more runs than AC on Friday night! Simple as that! I want to win every time I put my team on the field, showcase, states, nationals, whatever but it is not a life changing experience if you lose, it should build character and help rekindle that fire to work harder, keep the team building functions going, and challenge the coaches, players, and fans to come together and achieve the goals you seek. "Perfection can never be reached without adversity!" Good luck to both programs! I know and have coached kids from both sides, quality ladies, make sure you show that quality every time you hit the field. We grown-ups do not always conduct ourselves in a sportsmanlike manner, teach us!:2thumbsup:

The Guru Tried To Tell You !!

Okay the ump missed the call as you say, but 2 HR's and 5RBI's can't be taken away by an umpire! Learn to lose baby, it's part of the game !! Like your thread name "SHAKEITOFF!!" Maturity will win everytime. I've been doing this a long time ,and Maness is the real deal !! Holly Berry is one of the most under-estimated players in N.C. Just be thankful Hayes was hurt one of the most aggressive ball players on the bases. I've coached all three girls for 2 years these kids don't give up !! Pembroke is getting Holly Berry, one great player. SWR beat North Davidson ,and now AC. I would never bet against them...on with life everybody, it's just a game !!!
