Playoff brackets are up.....

Ragsdale is the best team I've seen this year in 3A, & my favorite to win the west, But------------- in a one & done format, they could slip up along the way. Lake Norman or East Rowan in the 2nd round would be a battle.

Very true. One of Ragsdale's strengths is pitching depth. Doesn't mean as much in a 1 game deal.

But you know how this league is going, that has a good chance to change before any of those teams play again on Tuesday.

You think it is bad in the playoffs? Trying playing in this conference every week !

 

They Should at Least Try to Seed

They should at least take the top 4 or 8 teams from each side of the state and split them up so, if they advance, they get to play the three game series at the end to advance to the state championship.

(IMHO, it is silly, unfair and shortsighted to have all the SW4A teams in one side of the bracket...they have to beat each others brains in enough during the regular season.)

 

Who is going to decide

who the top 4 or 8 teams in the east or west are? How are you going to determine that? Maybe the 2nd best team in the west is the 2nd place team in their own conference. Now your going to seed them higher than other teams that might have not only won their conference but went undefeated in their conf? If you want to see some people freak then just try that one.

I dont believe its right to put all the teams from one conference in the same side of a bracket. I do believe they should seed teams based on strength of schedule , overall record and how they finish in their own conference. But who is going to determine strength of schedule? Who is going to determine who gets what? Who is that person going to be?

Heck we can not even get people on this site to agree on who the top teams are.

If you could start all over and make a true playoff system designed to get the best chance to get the top teams in the final 4 in each side of the state in each classification then you would have to Seed and go 2/3 in every round. Its just not going to happen. So we have what we have.
