    Southern Alamance vs Webb

Ray I can understand you being upset but try to look at this another way. Does anyone celebrate when they beat a weak team that has no ones respect? How many celebrations did other teams have on your field when you were getting it handed to you on a pretty constant basis?

The fact that someone celebrates when they beat you means they believe they have accomplished something worth celebrating. It means you are getting to the point where it means something to beat you. Its been a long time since Webb has been in a game with this much on the line in the regular season. It just means your program is getting to where Coach Tate has been working to get it.

Southern plays hard and they get after it. They rise to the level of the game and competition. We had some heated games over the last three years with those guys. We gave as much as we took. They celebrated on our field and we celebrated on their field. I repect the way they get after it and the way they compete. I wasnt there but anytime you have two teams playing for first place your going to have some fireworks break out.

Worry when no one cares when they beat you. Worry when its no big deal when someone beats you. But also understand when you get to the top of the heap and two dogs are fighting for the same bone , its going to get heated and its going to get intense.

Use this as motivation to rise to that same level of intensity and match theirs when you travel to SA. And let the best dawg win.

Southern has been that way for a while. I remember the folks at Clayton being upset when one of the Sappelts did "dirt (snow) angels" in Clayton's infield after a playoff win. Sorry you had a bad experience with them, you are certainly not the first team to experience their bad behavior. Funny thing is that Southern Alamance never acted that way when Coach Matanzo was the head guy. He kept them in line for the most part.

    Southern at Webb

Matt Murphy had 11 strikeouts and Jeremy Stalker had 3 strikeouts in the bottom of the 7th.

It was an intense game tonight. Two fine ball clubs got after it tonight.

The rematch should be good next Wednesday night at Southern Alamance.

Southern is now 12-4 and 6-0.

Great game to watch 2 nice shortstops, especially John Morgan (Sr) from Gibbons...2-3 with a big HR, and a web gem to end the 6th from deep in the hole.
