Alpha ll Omega Sports Performance and the Lady Blues Fastpitch Organization presents the first annual RAQ Training Invitational Softball Scouting Combine which will take place at Wingate University Softball Complex Saturday May 23rd, 2009 beginning at 8:30am. The Combine hopes to showcase the best HS fastpitch softball prospects in the southeast region.
RAQ pronounced (RACK) stands for Reaction, Agility, and Quickness! The sole purpose for this event is to try to put quantitative and qualitative data together so that not only the softball player can utilize, but also the collegiate coaches and recruiters that attend can use to evaluate where the player is currently and use as a predictive criterion for their future collegiate career.
The Combine will have three sections:

    1) Speed and power testing, broad and high jump, and rotational power to evaluate "core strength"
    2) Skill evaluation at the participates defensive positions and hitting evaluation (pitchers and catchers included)
    3) The players will be divided into teams and play three inning controlled games as the final evaluation process. (college coaches have requested)

If interested, contact Rodney Threatt at [email protected] and you will be provided an application that must be completed and returned for evaluation. Reference letters from travel and HS coaches are required! Cost is $195 per player and includes; t-shirt, profile booklet, evaluation data, and potential exposure to a variety of schools and coaches from the SE. We already have request for application due to a press release on 2-27-2009 by Alpha ll Omega Sports Performance and I have received several inquiries from college coaches.
** We will take 75 players and each application will be reviewed in detail, all questions must be answered, all material must be provided or the application can not be considered, if accepted to attend, you have 10 days to provide payment.**
We will have a Softball vendor for your equipment needs and snacks etc. will be available! College coaches will be provided breakfast and lunch by the Blues organization!
You have asked for a softball combine and we promise to deliver an awesome experience!:taz:

    Some response

We have had over a dozen players to request applications, most from NC. This combine will provide much more than previous Sneak a Peek days and we are working hard to get as many college coaches as possible.
If there is a problem with $195 fee, we will allow payments over a few weeks period to make sure all players chosen are able to attend.
We will have vendors available for equipment and sports wear and a local chef and restaurant owner will provide food for all!
Don't miss an opportunity to show your "wears" to college coaches.

    Clear up

If you are a 2009 player that has not committed or signed, you can attend the combine! We have a 2009 Canadian player interested in a NC school attending.
To date, we are getting a good response to the event. We are inviting players and or teams from Va, Tenn, Ga, SC, NC, and several NE states. We hope to make this the best Combine on the East Coast and welcome any suggestions to assist us in improving the event.

Vendors will be present with the latest Bats and other equipment, another with sports wear, and food and drinks will be available as well.

We will take the first 75 qualified players so get your application and references letters into us as soon as possible. Deadline: May 10, 2009! Cost is $195 which will include profile in book provided to college coaches, t-shirts, and testing results in a print-out fashion will be provided to college coaches and to the participates.

The Combine Press release has been sent to over a 100 college coaches. Wingate has a beautiful facility with lots of room for fans, come watch this event and enjoy the games to be played after testing and skills event are completed. High School Coaches, the games will be three inning affairs and a pitcher will only get one inning on mound. We are not trying to interfere with your season, just trying to assist the softball community.

    RAQ Combine May 23, 2009

    Players, Parents and Coaches,

Daily we are faced with making choices, one choice that makes sense for those seeking the Next Level is this event.

The RAQ Combine will provide each player the ultimate in exposure to numerous college coaches in an up close and personal environment.

As a parent of a recently recruited player I can say with certainty the value of this event far out weights it's cost and the overall exposure is greater than any other venue of it's type.

Numerous college coaches have shown interest in this combine including:
NC State, Francis Marion, Gardner Webb, St. Andrews, Limestone, UNC-C, Pfeiffer, College of Charleston, Belmont Abbey, Fayetteville State, Elon, Furman, Wingate and many more.

Please don't miss out on this special opportunity, space is limited, so contact Coach Threatt today, I know you'll be glad you did!

    deadline

We are setting a Deadline of May 10 for entry to the Combine! We have to order T-shirts, provide the profile booklets, and add the testing material as well so we need a couple weeks.
Times are tough but if you miss this event, you are going to miss a great opportunity to not only see how you compare to other players but to provide college coaches with some crucial data on your core strength, flexibility, agility, speed, throwing power and accuracy, as well as show your skills and playing ability in a controlled environment where all coaches are watching you!

    Deadline Approaching Fast!

Attention all Student/Athletes perusing the next level: The deadline for the Combine is approaching fast and we do not want anyone to miss out on this special opportunity.

Attention all Coaches: Please remind your players about the Combine. As you know this type of venue provides great exposure to your players. Last years, Lady Blues Sneak A Peak Day, placed two prospects on two different coach's radar, that were somewhat overlooked during the initial recruiting process. These two ladies are now signed with their respective schools and will continue their dreams of playing at the next level, this fall!

    :woohoo:

Discounts are available for multiple team members, and special circumstances, please pm me or LBlues 1, for details. Time is running out, please don't delay and miss out, Contact Us TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Well Worth It!!

Great opportunity to be seen by many college coaches AND receive invaluable information regarding your performance. Not too many softball "Combines" out there - this is a definate first in our area! Extremely proffessional format.

As CatchersDad said, last year there were a couple players who began to get heavily recruited due to the sneak a peak. this year's event is the "sneak a peak" X 10!

Great exposure, great fun - plus, from what I understand, should be some pretty dang good BBQ out there.... might even find a chilidog or two!!

I would come for the BBQ even if my daughter wasn't participating!
