    It's a K.... In the book K WP 2-3 Catcher gets PO.

No way it's a Sac. That requires Contact and Intent..

Otherwise everytime a player misses a Sac Bunt and K's but the runner advances you would have to give them a sac.

oh yea coach is not thinking well..

I will preface this by saying I am not a softball scorer. I officially score our baseball but here's how I record it.

Since the runner going from 2nd to 3rd is leaving on the pitch she doesn't know if the pitch will be wild (assuming it's still a hit and run you leave on the pitch) so she gets a stolen base, no matter where the pitch ends up. She did not advance because the pitch was wild.

The hitter gets a KS (strikeout swinging) and the put out is 2-3, no sacrifice is given.

This is why parents should not score games (not saying anyone here is unbias but theres no way thats a sac). If I can find the rule in the scorers manual Ill post it.

    Scorers manual?

Is there really such a thing? I would love to see it and/or get a copy (seriously). I think we all know lots of people (including me) who could really use it... :handbang:

Maybe all official scorers and/or schools should be required to at least have a copy of the manual at the game? I know, that is asking way too much.

    SECTION 8—SACRIFICE
A sacrifice is credited to the batter in the following
    situations:
14.8.1 When a plate appearance meets the following four
criteria: 1) there are fewer than two outs, 2) the batter advances
one or more runners by bunting, 3) the ball must be bunted
(i.e., not swung at), and 4) the batter is called out at first base or
would have been out had no error occurred.

    WP?

Is a WP charged against the pitcher, or do we not have enough info to make that determination?
14.2.33 Wild Pitch: A pitched ball that the catcher misses
and could not be expected to catch, resulting in a base runner
    advancing.

Agreed, the advance to home would be either a WP, or its cousin the PB. Of course, as a catcher's dad, you may never have heard of a PB. :surprised: As a pitcher's dad, I don't see as many WP. :smug2:

Some would have any pitch that touches ground in front of home as a WP. However, I see way too many drop balls touch right in front of home and are easily handled by the catcher to feel this way. For me, it depends on the pitch. Which may be due to my previously mentioned affiliation.

    Tough on Catchers!

:N1butbutHL:JMC-I'm real tough on my catcher, If the pitcher throws it over the back stop and my catcher doesn't go thru the fence and catch it and throw the runner out trying to advance, then I score it as a PB!
