    Ledford ( 2a ) 2

    SW Guilford ( 3a ) 0

pitcher for ledford 11ks gave up 1 hit

Gosh i don't know how that happened since ledford is 2a and sw is 3a, must have been lucky. :dizzy2:

By the way send your 4a 3a pitchers to pitch against mt pleasant and see if they dominate that line up

4A just means the school has more kids to chose from to build a team and therefore maybe able to go deeper with talent. Also could have better facilities etc due to available funds. Also, are usually in areas covered by regional papers, etc so can get more publicity. There are travel ball teams made up of mostly rural small schools that I hate playing because they are scrappy, tough, and understand what it takes to win! About half of the 50+ kids that have gone on to play college ball for Blues were 4A players so appears the 1A to 3A schools are doing OK. I bet Flames, Cardinals, Dazzle, Storm, and others have more kids that were not 4A players. No scientific study to my post, just observation.

I'll try saying this again and see if you can understand. I am not saying that there are not good players in 1A/2A. I am saying that if they played against better competition they would not have these high STATS. This thread is about STATS. For example in the AC-T today out of the first 30 leaders batting over .400 in WNC 23 are 1A/2A. They are getting hits in 2A that would not be hits in 3A/4A because the ball would be fielded. If some of these 3A/4A players played consistently at the 1A/2A level their stats would go up 100 points. When you are beating this little ole teams 18-0, 22-0, 19-0 your stats are going to go way up. I'm not knocking anyone I am just stating the facts.

Ok let me weigh in on this...i see some of the point that Neutral is TRYING to make...however what Neutral is not taking into account is that there are quite a few VERY bad 3A/4A schools also..we are 3A and are probably border line one of those bad teams and have 2 more schools under us. There are also bad 4A teams, almost all of the Greensboro city schools are not very good AND 4A...that causes inflated stats as much as the 1A/2A schools...and it also works both ways...how about this example
My DD pitched against the same SW Guilford team that UNC1's DD
Morgan had 11Ks in 5IP(2 of the other outs were groundouts to the pitcher) and we LOST 13-1...now in our paper along w/ i'm sure Greensboro's it shows SW Guilford having probably 10 or 11 hits but what it doesn't say is that all for those except maybe 3 or 4 WOULD have been caught in TB...not errors in the book but w/ a decent fielder they are outs...
bottom line is this..school ball doesn't fool the colleges...there are PLENTY of very good 1A/2A/3A kids playing travel...if stats are inflated by the (lack of) competition then it WILL show in the summer...if all you're after is good stats to get accolades then more power to ya...if you're wanting to get in college...then prove it in travel ball...high school is for community pride...we could have moved to ND or Glenn or SW Guilford but you know what Roger put alot of time and energy in my kids growing up, he deserved for us to go to Parkland for good or bad...that my friends is a quickly devolving trait....LOYALTY

    Bottom Line !!!

I agree stats don't always tell the story , because they can be inflated by a parent or a coach that might want his or her team to shine in the conference. If your goal is to get in college don't rely on high school stats to get you there, but play higher level ball in the summer, and like prkland said it will show who is really producing or not. As far as the 1A,2A,3A,OR 4A bit, I know personally UNC1's daughter, and she is for real, and can pitch to any batter at any division, but it's what she puts into the game, and her time spent on the ball field, and not at the beach / vacations like many of her peers do all summer. This game or any other game will only benefit those by the order the athletes prioritize their time !! Good luck to all divisions the next couple of weeks as conference titles become closer to the end !!

No just laughing at your knoledge or lack of. I'm thru with this, it's not worth the argue, all conferences have week teams that let hitters and batters improve their stats not just 1a or 2a.
