Game of the week?

I was in Greenville on tues night to see Rose vs West Craven. I was in Rocky Mount last night to see Rocky Mount vs Northern Nash. And I am about to go see a big match up between cross town rivals Oxford Webb and South Granville tonight.

It got me thinking. If anyone would like for me to come and do a write up on your high school game next week send me a pm. I would like to interview a player from each team before the game take some pictures of the game and do a story. I will go to the game that I receive the most requests to come see.

If you dont care then fine I dont need to hear who doesnt want me to come. If you would like me to do it let me know. I will say I am in need of a trip out west. So I hope some of you will contact me. And it needs to be a 7pm start if at all possible.

If Braves will permit I will call it the TBR game of the week. I will post the game report with interviews and pictures on TBR for this game.

 

My pick for the Game of the Week next week is Tuesday between Ardrey Kell and Providence...this is not a friendly rivalry anymore.

What will make the atmosphere more intense is if the students at AK decide to come to the game. It would be nice if they could see fit to put this game in their schedule.....because I know this: Providence student body will be there; Loud...boisterous...and supporting!!!

...and Richie Shaffer is back (an amazing feat) and appears to be as good as before.

I wish this game was being played when others are not, because you would have to take a shoe horn to fit everybody in Hignight's Thunderdrome.

The place should be rockin'...the students should be cussin'..the dogs should be fightin'...and the player's should be competin'. The only people that will be coming in after the game starts will be some of the AK students that happen to be dropping by to check out the tennis match.

For the game itself: Two teams scratching and clawing like a Frazier and Ali's Thrilla in Manilla.....and a sidenote: Greg Chance will be umpiring, so it will be a show with him, Hignight and Bagwell. I'm wondering who will get DQ'd first.

This game is setup for a classic. The only additional thing it might need is for me to sing the National Anthem---I'm better than Miss America.

...and if this post happens to offend the students at AK....good. Prove everybody wrong what they say about you.

 

Northern Durham vs Person Friday nite

shapes up to be a big one as Northern seems to be getting hot at the right time...

 

AK vs Prov...Shaffer vs Wood...Prov wins and they vitually lock up 1st place in the SW4A...AK wins its tied with Prov with 2 league games to go. Hard to ask for anything better in THE best conference in the state.

I'm not sure when East Rowan goes to Lake Norman, its not this week, but its gotta be soon. It would be great to finally meet you Coach27.

Marvin Ridge vs. Weddington

Should be a great game today @ Marvin Ridge 4:30. Most of these guys haven't been on the same field together since they played on the Weddington JV team in 06-07 that went 18-0. This should be the first game in a new rivalry that will have both teams in the same conference next year when Weddington moves back into the South Piedmont.

You're right. This should be an exciting game. It will develop into a huge rivalry. Even though Marvin Ridge had a tough game against Charlotte Christian I felt they learned a lot playing that game...and will be better because of it.

It would be fun just watching Coach Mennitt and Coach Poole getting after it. I never knew how much I missed Mark Mennitt until the other day. He is unique and very bright. I wish my son had an opportunity to play for him. Coach Mennitt is building a heckuva program.
