Andrew Meadows pitching very well was an understatement! That's a lot of stress for a Freshman, though he handled it like a Senior!

I did find it amusing that everyone was talking about Josh Skidmore just missing in this first few at bats, then he goes yard, so I guess we were all right?

Anyways, I tip my hat to the East Rowan players/coaching staff, truly was a great game.

    Lake Norman 5 Statesville 2

Lake norman played through the motions threw 6 innings and being down 2-1 before taking off in the 7th and scoring 4 runs.

Lefty Tyler Lewis(2010) threw 4 innings of 4 hit 2 run baseball 1 earned. before being relieved by Ross Whitley(2009 Catawba) who threw the final 3 innings allowing 1 hit and no runs.

Casey Liles pitched 6 1/3 solid innings allowing 1 run... before being banged around for 4 more runs.

timely hitting by lake norman made the difference....

Lake norman plays at West rowan tomorrow at 7 pm

Lake norman is now 14-1 (11-0)

    Lake Norman 8
    West Rowan 1

    WP: Scottie Williams
    LP: Garrett White

Very sloppy game tonight. West made about 6 errors and did not capitalize with runners on. Credit LN pitching. West drops to 6-5 in the NPC and LN stays unbeaten.

Lake norman 8 West rowan 1

Lake norman stays unbeated in the npc. Thanks to a huge pitching performance out of junior lefty Scottie Williams(2010). who threw i think 5 and 1/3 allowing 1 run before running into a jam. He was relieved by Ross Whitley(2009 Catawba) who came in and slammed the door.

Garret White pitched for the Falcons only allowing 2 hits in 3 innings i think.

    LKN HITTING:

    Donnie Burt(2009) 1-3 rbi
    Joe Faist(2009) 1-3
    Tyler Lewis(2010) 1-3 rbi
    Nick Keith(2010) 1-3
    Jordan Farrell(2009 CVCC) 1-3

Lake Norman now 15-1(12-0) clinches playoff birth and will play carson on tuesday for the first time on the season.

    Mooresville 8 South Rowan 4

Excellent pitching by Devils Ian Walter complete game. Mooresville allows 3 runs in 3rd or 4th inning on 5 infield errors but regrouped to finish out the game.

    Chris Elliot 2 run HR

    Next up East Rowan

East Rowan was leading North Iredell 19-0 when play was halted by rain Friday night. Zach Smith and Ben Decelle had homered for the Mustangs. Play will resume Wednesday.

    This just in...

Lake Norman is pretty fair :xyxthumbs: Seriously, everyone has been touting the NPC has 4 teams, or 5 teams,,, I've only watched Lake Norman twice (against East Rowan and West Rowan),,, but my buddy and I this past Friday night decided that Lake Norman is clearly alone at the top.(sorry if thats a jinx)

Look at it come playoff time, Lomascola gives them that ace to beat other great teams, but LN don't stop there. They have other great pitching on this team. The kid that pitched against West Rowan is only a junior (Williams?) and I've seen Ross Whitley (Catawba) in the East game, East batters couldn't handle him. Lake Norman runs the bases well, aggressive but not stupid,,, and they've swung the bats well scored 6 runs against East and 8 runs against West (not 2 bad teams pitching and defensewise).

I still think the NPC could have possibly 4 playoff teams who win 1st round games, and I think East can still go far (especially if Shive continues to pitch and gets back to his old self). But right now, clearly Lake Norman is best in this area.

Btw, good to see westboy and lknbaseballfan again.
