    Anyone else play today?

    Sanderson - 6
    Cary - 5

    WP - Gagnon
    LP - Foshee

Good game. Sanderson scores 5 in the 5th and then Cary battles back but leaves the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th.

Back to conference play for both on Tuesday
Sanderson has Millbrook tomorrow and Cary is at Middle Creek.

    Marvin Ridge 7 Weddington 4

In the first ever meeting between the two teams Marvin Ridge picks up the win behind a good pitching performance by Justin Setzer. Anthony Boone threw a good game but the defense behind him made a few errors that Marvin Ridge capitalized on. Shane Basen got things started with a 2-run blast off Boone as Marvin Ridge jumped out to a 7-0 lead early. In the sixth, homeruns by Weddington's Honeycutt and Hendel off reliver Matt Walser cut the lead to 7-4.
Scott Shipman came in and shut the door in the 7th and the Maverick's move to 16-2 overall (12-0 conf.) Scott Shipman will get the start tomorrow @ Porter Ridge where a win will clinch the conference title for the second year straight.

Good luck to the Warriors the rest of the year and I look forward to seeing many more matchups between these two teams for years to come!

    Max Gagnon is impressive

Max Gagnon of Sanderson did it all tonight. Started on the mound and dominated for 2 innings. Hit a couple of missiles at bat. Played a few innings at first and then moved behind the plate to finish up. On a throw down between innings he fired a pea from his knees to second that was so good I laughed out loud. This kid is really good and I can't believe no one has scooped him up yet.

I have to agree about Max. This Greenville Rose dad was extremely impressed with Max last year in our series with Sanderson. He has size, handles pitchers well, has a cannon for an arm and has a great stick. He seems to have the total package. It baffles me why he has not been snatched up by a college coach along time ago. If I was a college coach, I would be knocking on Max's door asap.

I saw the throw as well and you are right, it was the Max Gagnon show at Cary High last night. Max can play. I can not believe one bit that he has not been picked up yet. Only a matter of time.

The difference in this game was defense. Agree pitching was good on both sides, but MR made all of the routine plays and even made some very good defensive plays while Weddington spent the 3rd inning booting the ball around, throwing it against the backstop etc, to the tune of 5 runs all after 2 outs. Errors on routine plays have plagued Weddington all year.

Congrats to Shane Basen on his first HR of the season. Nice timing Shane!:worshippy:

Will be fun with these two teams in the same conference next year.
