Pisgah moves to 19-0

Pisgah moves to 19-0 overall. After beating Enka Wednesday the Bears where a little flat. Taylor Willis which leads the state in pitching wins and has a ERA .45. She finished the game not allowing any runs. All the games this year the Bears have not allowed no more than 2 runs a game. A well rounded team offensively and defensively. Two games left in the regular season, one at home and one on the road. This my first time on this board. I have been informed that my brother was on alot. He passed away suddenly 5 months ago. He loved this school and was the writer and radio boardcaster for the Bears. He truly would be proud of the Bears. Keep it rolling girls. As the famous words of my brother and what everyone knew him by GO BEARS GO.

There are some good teams in the 2A. We have played most of them the last 4 years in the state championship. This team finished 3rd last year in the state and most of the key players are back. I hope we can make a run again. GO BEARS GO

Pisgah carries a great tradition, like Enka, Swain, Polk, and a lot of the mountain schools! 2A West just might be the strongest bracket of all. There are another handful of schools not mentioned above who can compete on that level. Who wants it, and who is prepared to take it?

 

Great game between Pisgah and Enka. Pisgah proved why they are ranked number 1. Congratulations to Pisgah/Smokey Mtn. Sting players Taylor Willis, Haley Pace, and Hali Worley!

 

2A Playoffs

I know Ledford has played a really tough schedule and sits at 19-3 overall with wins over Central Davidson and Mt. Pleasant. Losses came to 4A power North Davidson, Davie and Defending 1A champ East Surry. Top three out of the Central Carolina 2A are all very good teams that will not be a good draw for anyone. Good luck folks!

 

Coach P at Central Davidson is hoping that Chelsea Leonard will be playing come playoff time. If thats the case and she is at "full speed," they will be tough to beat once again. However if I was him and her I would not want to push or risk anything.

 

With the scholarship she was given I think they would not be wanting her to try and throw that soon. Wouldn't be very smart either way.

 

Central Davidson has made great strides this year with a very young team and will be a contender in the playoffs with or without Chelsea. They have played an incredibly tough schedule with wins and losses that have made them better. If Chelsea does pitch, it will be because she's ready.

The polls have nailed the top five 2A teams. Any of them are capable of taking it all. It's a shame only two of them (Pisgah probably, plus one other) will make it to the Creek from the west. This year 2A west may be the most interesting of all the classifications.
