    Region 3 Tryouts

    It will be very interesting to see who makes the Region 3 Team! Hopefully everyone selected comes from the girls who actually attended one of the 2 tryouts. Find it hard to believe that a coach would be that undermining.

    Last year we had a dad coach that selected both of his daughters for his team. This year we have controversy again! Just a thought would it be better for State Games to be an Invite Tryout or Selection process within the conferences?

    A) Invite Tryout :Each conference in a region to select 2 or 3 players to invite to State Games Tryouts. This would make it impossible for a Region Coach to select most of his players from his conference or local area.

    B) Selection Process Eliminate Tryouts: Establish set numbers that conferences within the region get to put on State Games Team based on size of Conference or Strength of Conference.

    Why Dont U !!

    Hey let's broaden the issue , let's say you can't play for your daddy at all , or better than that you can't attend a college where your parents went, politics may play a role there also!! I know a team right today where a father gave large amounts of money to the program, and that's the only reason his kids are playing for this top D1 school !! You are not going to get rid of politics, if isn't going to leave because you are dissatisfied . Further more as you have suggested the kids that will get selected will probably be the popular kids rather than the ones that give a 100% on the field !!

    Now that my DD has received her email and been selected, when and where will they post the other girls that was selected in her region? Sorry, she is a freshmen and we are new at this?

    They didn't call in person to tell her the good news, they just sent an email? Seems a little odd... (sorry can't answer your question)

    Do you think they have the time to call every kid to tell them that they made the team ?? Email was acceptable to my daughter, she was just glad she made it !!--Whoops sorry Pop !! These coaches are still coaching their high school teams, and they aren't baby-sitting, these girls are 15-18 years old...c'mon giving a break !!:N1respectHL:--- Guru

    Thank you for putting that nicely! My daughter was excited about the email and was proud to be selected by email or phone. She is representing Region 7. Good luck to all the other girls and regions.

    Rosters

    The State Games office has taken on the responsibility of posting the rosters for each Region. All Head coaches have been asked to send in their rosters to them as soon as possible. The rosters for all regions including the East/West Seniors should be up on the website at www.ncsports.org on the softball page real soon. Please remember that a couple of the Regions are still having their tryout sessions.
