Can anyone hook me up with the standings of the PAC6 and 2 Rivers Conferences... if possible, throw out the standings for Mid SE, Greater Neuse River, Mideastern and Tri 8...lol... Iknow I am asking for a lot, but it's obvious I am trying to figure out the brackets! FINAL Coastal Conference standings will be decided tonight, as Rose plays New Bern and Conley plays South Central.

    Thanks so much!

    Two-Rivers:

Diesel, here's what I've got on the Two-Rivers:

Southview & Terry Sanford play for the Tourney championship on Saturday at 6:00PM @ Southview.

    Seeding is already decided:
    #1 Southview
#2 Terry Sanford (by virtue of beating Pine Forest in tourney 8-3)
    #3 Pine Forest
#4 Cape Fear (by virtue of beating Purnell Swett in tourney 2-1)

Marvin Ridge is one game away from perfect conference season after beating a gritty Sun Valley team last night 6-4. Marvin Ridge took advantage of several Spartan miscues in the field to help earn the W. Marvin Ridge takes on Anson at home today to try to complete the sweep.

Andy Capone threw well and gave Sun Valley every opportunity to win. Shipman ran his record to a perfect 9-0 on the year for the Mavericks. Both kids competed hard and threw complete games.

    Tri-8

    1. Green Hope - 10-2, 18-4
    2. Middle Creek - 10-2, 16-6
    3. Apex - 7-5, 12-7
    4. Fuquay - 7-5, 10-12
    5. Athens - 5-6, 10-9
    6. Cary - 3-9, 6-16
    7. Lee County - 3-9, 3-16
    8. Panther Creek - 3-10, 5-16

Still a couple games left for things the order to shake out. But your 5 playoff teams from the Tri-8 are GH, MC, Apex, Fuquay, and Athens.

Have a question from the Southwest-Parkland game last night. Bases loaded 1 out. Player hits a ground ball between first and second and the first baseman attempts at the ball but misses. The ball then strikes the runner running from 1st to 2nd. What kind of call should happen here?

Last night the umpires ruled the runner going from 1st to 2nd out and the batter ended up on first and the other 2 baserunners stayed put. Is this the right call or no?

Just a question, no dog in the fight was just watching a baseball game last night and this situation came up.

Always a tricky one for the umps to call...

WRONG CALL....(unless).....the umps thought the 2nd baseman still had a chance to field it then the runner would be called out and it is a dead ball with know one advancing and the batter is given first base and a base hit.....BUT...by rule once an infielder makes a play on a ball that goes past him and it hits a runner then it is a live ball and play continues. That of course does not include if he dives for a ball that he really has no play on...it must be a clean fielding attempt at the groundball.

    SSS.....

Loses to Holly Springs Wednesday night. Must defeat West Johnston
Friday night and Clayton Monday night for outright conference
championship. A split in remaining games results in tie b/w SSS and
Holly Springs and a matchup between the 2 on Tuesday night to decide the
#1 and #2 seed for GNRC.
