How popular is stat buffing involving 2 or 3 pitchers on the same team at the high school level. Is it really benefitting the players or will it sooner or later back fire?

    WELL

Look college coaches make a living by watching players play and pitchers pitch so if a pitcher has inflated stats, believe me the experts will figure it out pretty quick. Against quality competition, if the pitcher is not skilled, she will get lit up! Batting averages, ERA's, fielding percentages are all good but if you truly can't perform it will be apparent the more you are observed! Never had a college coach ask about stats!

    Agreed !!

I know many kids that play college ball that didn't have .500 batting average in high school, more like .325 plus or minus !! Agreed RT on this one,and it will tell in summer ball !!!

I'd have to agree with LBlues...you can pad stats - Hire NSR or whatever...When it comes down to player performance, a recruiter/coach will know. The only thing padded stats does for a player(an coach) would be for them to lose their creditability. I have personally witness a DIV.II college coach (while sitting in her office) take several DVD's (sent from NSR) and drop them in the trash. Basically, what she expected was for the recruit to workout with her team first...Afterwards the coach would come watch her perform. From that point on, it's all up to the player. You can edit DVD's and pad stats-But you want be able fix true performance .

good point hit-n-run, i have witnessed the dvd dumping also. know of a receint situation where a team promoted a player with a .500 batting average. believe she hit a sub .100 in college. college coach wont listen to that certain coach again. you have to realize that most of these college coaches talk to each other, and bogus stats are one thing they share with each other, as in the source of bogus stats, so you not only hurt the creditability of the player, you hurt your creditability also - and it never comes back.......

most of the college coaches i know throw stats in the trash. hs ball is very inconsistant as in the quality of teams played against. thats why most college coaches will wait until the state games or late playoffs to scout potential recruits when the competition is tough.....
