Kalie Lang pitches 9 innings with 18 strikeouts against 4 hits in a 1-0 first time ever win for Ardrey Kell softball over Providence.

Stephanie Wood gets the game winning RBI double driving in Jen Rosene who doubled before her.

Nerve racking for the parents, exciting and fun for the kids.

High school sports at its best.

Couple of outstanding Players & Young Ladies @ AK

Congrats to AK on their victory over Providence. Tonights Championship game between AK and Butler should be a great one to see.

Got to love Kalie Lang. Everytime this young lady toes the rubber, or comes to the plate with a bat in her hand, you always feel like something good is going to happen. As great a young lady as she is a player. Hey all you D1 coaches out there. You are missing it with not grabbing this awesome talent.

Jen Rosene, another pitching stalwart for AK, is outstanding as well. Don't know of any teams out there that has as strong a 1-2 punch from the pitching position like AK does. Jen swings a very nice bat as well. Recently it seems like she has been getting a ton of big hits for AK. Jen is an outstanding student as well. She will more than likely finish her senior year next year as one of the top 2 students in her graduating class. Way to go Jen. Keep it up. College of Charleston will be thrilled to see you step on campus.

WP - Kalie Lang (15 K's, 4 Hits, 1 BB)
LP - Leah Quant (12K's, 6 Hits, 1BB, 1 HBP, 1ER, Team 4 errors)
Their line up fought all night at the plate. Kalie Lang threw outstanding as did Leah Quant. Lang got the timely hits from her team and also played very good defense on the mound. If they can find a way to bottle that enthusiasm and desire through the playoffs they will be incredibly difficult to beat for anyone. Both pitchers were simply outstanding, not other way to put it.

 

Unbiased recap

Great game. Lots of energy and excitement. Lang was on and throwing hard. She really threw a nice game and not in any trouble. One of those games that it looked like she could throw all night. Quant I thought labored quite a bit. She had pressure from the plate and from her own defense. Not sure why the first baseman threw to third when she had the out next to her. Here again my opinion, I thought Lang was up in the count all night and Leah was working behind and threw a lot of pitches. Good Night for AK and there pitcher, she really looked impressive. It really looked like she is the leader of that group and the team really follows her. Good luck to both teams.

 

Pretty defensive about your pitcher. The other pitcher was better last night. It happens.

 

One of the best games i have ever watched - Both teams fought hard all night. It was a great pitchers duel to the end. Kalie pitched one of the best games i have ever seen her throw. Leah had a great game as well. The games between AK - and Prov have always been hard fought battles with great pitching on both sides and AK had timely hits last night that in end put them on top but it certainly could have gone either way . I say look out for both teams in the playoffs !
