Lake Norman Strike Out Cancer Night

    Friday night May 15th, the Lake Norman Wildcats will play their first playoff game in an effort to help Strike Out Cancer. The team will be wearing special jerseys that will be auctioned off to the crowd after the game. All proceeds from the jersey auction will go to the 24 Hours of Booty organization of Charlotte NC.     The 24 Hours of Booty is the official 24 Hour cycling event of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The 24 HoB organization supports the following charities:
    Lance Armstrong Foundation - national
    The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults - Carolina based
    The Brain Tumor Fund for the Carolinas - Carolina based
    Keep Pounding - Cancer support and awareness program started by Sam Mills former Carolina Panther
    John Hopkins Medicine

    Some cancer statistics:
    - 1.4 million Americans are expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year.

    - 560,000 Americans are expected to die from cancer this year, or more than 1,500 per day.

    - Nearly 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will develop cancer during their lifetime.

    When do you find time to sleep??? LKN will truely miss your family's dedication to the LKN baseball program and all your countless hours of hard work behind the scenes. We still have unfinished business to settle before your son heads off to Gamecock Country. Thanks for all ya'll do and have done for the program and GO WILDCATS....:trophy:

    Thanks! Everything that we do is for the boys. I don't know any other way. I will do the same for my youngest son with whatever he does: baseball, band, etc.

    I have only have a few passions in life: my family (supporting anything my boys do), baseball (at any level), and helping beat cancer. After losing my Mother to cancer 6 years ago a friend at work invited me to ride in the 3rd annual 24 Hours of Booty and I have ridden in every one since. It is a great organization and more importantly a great deal of the money raised goes to cancer support organizations right here in the Charlotte area!
