Your last post (in the other thread) didn't bother me at all because we knew people outside of our program wouldn't agree with what we did. At the end of the day, we were gonna do what was best for the girls in our program.
In any case, I would rather have another 10-15 regular season games and still reduce the number of teams that make the state playoffs. It doesn't have anything to do with helping a HS budget, but more to do with the future of Softball in the state.

...cool, but are we talking about the future softball in HS? If so, I'm with you 100% about adding more games, bunching them up, round robin type gigs.
Thats gonna raise the bar for all kids who play. Reducing the # of teams in the State tourn. goes in the wrong direction! Put the kids on the field, make it fun, parents stay the hell away, and kids will play.
Adding more games in the regular season very well might open up the chance for a kid on the bench, waiting for her turn at the plate, to get up there and crush one in the gap.
Bam! Thats the future of fastpitch softball.

Tn. goes more by number of playing dates, as mentioned if you play four game in one day, then it counts as one, most teams from the Carolina's that go to TN. to play in tounments only get to play about 1/2 of the games that a TN. does..
I have counted as high as 53 games played by Tn. teams by the time state championships are played. Now all the teams dont play that many, some play appx. the same number that we in the Carolina's do.
