    Hopewell 2
    East Meck 0

What a pitcher's duel between Hopewell's Hunter Conley and East Meck's Olen Little. They both pitched with a lot of heart. Actually the score should be 0-0 and still playing as both runs scored were unearned.

Both teams are very young and competed with everything they had. Hopewell is a very dangerous team as they advance to the next round. Coach Brown is blessed with some very talented players and it was fun to see them find a way to win.....the sign of a champion.

Coach Greeson's East Meck team entered the playoffs after a 5 year absence. Great things are in store for this young team. They got a taste of what the playoffs are about and should work hard all summer and fall to get back again. With one more year experience, they should be able to figure out how to win the big games.

    AC Reynolds over East Gaston

AC Reynolds beat East Gaston 2 to 1 in eight innings tonight both pitchers did an outstanding job, both going all eight innings. Jeremy Sluder for Reynolds held East to just two bloop hits in the win. Jake Hill went 2 for 4 for the Rockets with two doubles and the go ahead run. Reynolds first baseman, Mark Montini had the game winning hit in the eighth with two outs.

It's amazing to me that we are only reaching the 2nd round and we already have SW4A conference teams playing against each other. They've already faced each other 15 times---can't they play someone else?

I think Butler left much of their equipment at Myers Park since they just left there Tuesday:bounce:

I guess they were saving McBride for the next round. I don't know and I won't ask.

    Wilmington Hoggard - 8
    Richmond County - 4

Wow. We have not seen that this year. Two things about them - one, they're gonna knock the piss out of the ball. They don't take alot of pitches. Two - do not hit the ball to the left side of the field. The third baseman and ss are freaking vacuum cleaners. SS robbed us of runs twice on what were solid base hits. The second one he made a diving catch behind second base with the bases loaded and flipped to the second baseman for the forced third out. ESPN worthy. We finish at 15-9. Looks like I'm gonna have to jump on somebody's bandwagon.

I'm with ya Braves, with the new conferences next year maybe they'll re-draw the playoff brackets...the way they are now, it's almost like two conferences are matched up together in each quad.

Can't live for the next round. Have to play to get to the next round or there will be no round correct? I'm betting the Ragsdale staff thought that their offense would put up some runs and the defense would hold Parkland. Nick Rhodes has some very nasty stuff and I too believe that there was a higher being in Jamestown tonight. Congrats to Ragsdale on a great season and good luck to Parkland in the playoffs.
