The regular season seedings seem to be pretty accurate in predicting team success. Non 1 or 2 seeds left in the Playoffs:

    In 4AW #3 Ardrey Kell
#4 Butler are the only non #1 or #2 Seeds Left

4AE #3 Apex is the only non 1 or 2

3AW #3 Tuscola is the lonly non 1 or 2

3AE #3 Fike and South Granville #3 are the only non 1 or 2

2AW #5 Seed is the only non 1 or 2

    2 AE all 1 or 2 seeds

1 AW #4 Seed Chatham is the only non 1 or 2

1 AE #3 Ayden Grfiton and WILD CARD Princeton are the only non 1 or 2

There is no seeding. If there were you would not have 7 SW4A teams in the lower bracket of the West bracket. Seeding is ranking teams 1-32 and having at it not the crap that the NCHSAA does now.

Agree! so far of the 8 SW4A teams there are 3 left. Of the 5 others in the tournament 3 were eliminated by other SW4A Teams in the first two rounds.
    Weddington by Ardrey Kell
    Independence by Providence
Myers Park (conf tourn champ) by Butler in an actual repeat of the championship game---really?
SM and EM by other conference teams.

Of the 4 teams left in the bottom 3 are SW4A

Now of the 3 left, 2 are playing each other in the 3rd round. If Butler beats SC, they get the pleasure of playing the winner of AK/Prov.

at minimum 4 should have been in the top bracket.

    Seedings

I agree with you guys. I should have used a better word than seedings. Maybe this speaks more about Home field advantage? I would much rather have it to where the conferences are spread out with the brackets. I am sure this was someone's "money saving, less travel" idea

It sure seems like "they" should take an extra hour and seed the teams.

    Minimum Wins?

I would love to see a min. win requirement to make the playoffs. (kind of like the NCAA football requires 6 wins to play in a bowl game) I know there are limited 4A size teams, but having teams with 5 and 6 wins on the season qualify is crazy.

Seeding will be tough, but this system should be improved...

Asking the guys in Raleigh to do actual seedings gets into all kinds of headaches that I am sure they would avoid at all costs (and would become VERY political)...BUT WHY NOT THIS:

1.) - Why not have the #1 team and the #2 seed from each conference play in different halves of the regional brackets?
(i.e. #1 from SW4A goes to top half of West and #2 goes to bottom half, #1 Queen City goes to bottom half, #2 to top half, etc.)

2.) - Then if the #3 and #4 seed from the same conference make it as well, they get split up as well.....
(#4 follows the #1 into that half of the bracket, and #3 follows #2...etc.)

3.) - Wild Cards Land where they will
    - If you follow suggestions #1 and #2 from above, Wild Cards become much less of an issue.

If two teams from the same conference make it the Regional Finals to play each other it is because they EARNED THEIR WAY THERE. Other conferences can't complain - they had their chances to beat the teams that made it to the Regional Finals.

    Strange pairings for sure

This is the way the NEW6 conference was done in the 3A east bracket.....and I can't believe it is not done in all brackets.

I just wanted to point out that South Granville from the 3A East is the 3 seed from the Mid State and they are still alive in the 3rd Rd.
