Thanks wildmanone. I wish I could have gotten more pics. Had a camera problem.

I have been going to AC for many years, and that is the largest crowd that I have seen there. I understand that the Providence game in round one may have been the largest crowd ever at AC.

I think it rained again all night, but if the rain stops anywhere close to to game time today, you can bet the grounds crew will have it ready to resume the game from last night. Not critizing anyone, but if the game had started at 5:30 yesterday, they would have got the game in before the rain came.

    Cometfan!

Bring your camera tonight! See if you can capture Sherrill jumping up off the bucket after a strikeout or great play............How high can he go?
Can you beleive the field conditions? Great crowd on hand, larger crowd tonight..................

    grounds crew @ AC

That grounds should work for a major league team. If they only had a tarp to roll out so the girls (or some crazy parents) could slide on it during rain delays.

Seriously, they work hard and take pride in that field. I am sure the crew appreciates the compliments.

we are all the grounds crew Including our players. One team one mission.

    We have a tarp.
Our Grounds crew is made up of our Varsity-JV pLayers and their parents as well as parents that do not have a child on the team. if it was not for the generous time Burpee Wike, Kendall Sipe ,(Sipe Lumber)and Randy Elder(and many others) put in... our field would be average. These folks fuss over the field like it is their front yard. You can bet they will be out there 3-4 hours before game time today to help ineure the girls have a playable field for tonights contest. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated group of people in our community
See you at the park!! let the game begin

I've actually heard some people criticize those guys for being too dedicated. They take great pride in what they do and they should. Nothing wrong with wanting to show off a little and Central Park is one place that the people of Alexander County can be very proud of.

Don't know yet but it's rained over 2 inches already today in Taylorsville. Some people are starting to head for higher ground but Wilkesboro is in worse shape than we are.
