Ms. Leonard sent us home from Walnut Creek in 06 and 08. She is the best prep pitcher I have ever seen 4A thru 1A. To come back from her injury her heart must be as big as her talent.

The point I was trying to make was that the CD hitters may be a little more relaxed knowing 1 run can win it for them. I know there are some very good teams/pitchers out there.

I would have liked to seen the Pisgah/Owen game.

I do get the point loud and clear from your post which actually proves my point. SHE beat, SHE beat, SHE beat and SHE beat the only team in NC with 4 batters hitting over .500 according to the Stat Leader board. Sometimes one player is all you need. Congratulations to Ms. Leonard. She sounds like the real deal.

So now you are saying that a 2A pitcher could have those stats in 3A/4A

The conversation starting about BATTING stats. I said that some of these 2A teams would not have batting averages as high as they do if they were playing quality teams day in and day out. I did not say that there were not good 2A players, there are plenty of them. I said in general 1A/2A TEAMS are weak compared to 3A/4A TEAMS. I notice that some have a hard time grasping the TEAM concept and want to make it about one or two certain players. For example in the post above regarding one player beating 3A/4A teams. Sure there are some exceptional players playing 1A/2A such as Ms. Leonard who puts CD under the radar. I stand by my belief that a team is made of nine players and 1A/2A ball in general does not compare to 3A/4A as some teams that move up next year will find out. Some of you are trying to make it personal and it is not. You are getting way off the intended comment. There is an exception to every rule and the CD pitcher is one of them, but some things fall right into place such as big hitters against weak teams are not such big hitters against strong ones.

My bad, I miss understood what you were trying to get at. It's all good.
Chelsea just happens to be living in a 2A school district. But as you well know, she could be just as effective pitching 5A for crying out load. The proof of that is Louisville sees that too or she wouldn't have gotten their attention.

The way I remember it you attacked the credibility of the MP stats.

But no matter how it started the MP players are a very talented team. And what is most important is you had absolutely nothing to do with their current skill level. Just a guess, but I doubt you help any other kid either.

I would suggest you find positive, encouraging words for these young ladies. A lot of them read these posts. If you want to antagonize players go find a professional team. These young ladies are far more worthy than most of your posts give them credit for.

We don't care how much you know; we care about the girls. If you don't care about the girls, go away!

Again nothing personal against anyone, just giving some examples since some have a hard time grasping what I'm saying. If you think there is no difference in 1A, 2A 3A & 4A petition the NCHSAA and tell them to do away with the classifications and lump everyone together since they are all the same. I know, when the teams go to State let's take the winner of 1A and play the winner of the 4A and see what happens. My guess is we would find out why there are classifications in the first place.

    Got a couple questions

First, is Chelsea Leonard expected to go to Louisville and start?

I've never seen her pitch nor do I know anything about Louisville's softball team.

Second, was she not recruited by the schools in NC?
