    Zack Mozingo

    Freshman Zack Mozingo has quickly turned into a potent arm for the Warriors. Mozingo started out this year playing JV ball for Eastern Wayne. Towards the end of April, Mozingo got his 1st start for the varsity squad & has been starting ever since. Mozingo usually goes 3 or 4 innings & then turns the game over to John Wooten. This combination has been deadly for Warrior opponents. Josh Frederick didn't see any action on the mound last night so his arm is fully rested for the beginning of the Eastern Championship Series. Advantage bigtime for Eastern Wayne considering Webb & Northern still haven't played & the weather is not looking good for today either. Any more delays will only give Mozingo & Wooten a chance to be fully rested while Northern & Webb pitchers will likely have to play 3 or 4 days in a row.

    It will take a large caliber weapon to keep Tyler Joyner off the bump if they make it to the eastern finals- that or Billy Godwin, myself and the possee of Pirate Club members we can round up.

    High school coaches at this point ...want to win. I'm sure Godwin and the boys have made some calls, whether it makes a difference, who knows.
    Nobody wants to throw in the towel at this point. All the stops are pulled.

    Remember:

    Billy Godwin was a star baseball player at Northern Nash in the early 80's!
    Also, if Northern Nash wins tonight, Tyler Joyner will have to face 2 of his future pirate teammates, Walker Gourley & John Wooten in the Eastern Championship Series.
    There Be Pirates in that series! RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
