    Just wandering how many strikeouts Emma had in this game.
    Last year the game that knock them out of the play-offs she had 21 k's.

    All good things must come to an end and for Garner Lady Trojans Softball it was tonight.

    Things were close until the 10th inning when Fuquay Varina opened up their bats after reaching on a fielder's choice error. FV won 8-3 against Garner in 10 innings.

    Garner Lady Trojans went 23-4 for the season, 16-1 in conference play. They were the Greater Neuse River Regular Season Champions as well as the Conference Tournament Champions.

    We will miss this year's seniors - Christie Wright, pitcher, and Nadia Jeffies, right field. Both of these young ladies will be playing softball in college. Nadia will be attending NC Central University and Christie will be attending Chowan University.

    As a team, we batted .331, scored 195 runs to opponents 51 runs, and stole 178 bases and had a fielding percentage of .923.

    Christie Wright, pitcher, won 23 games, had 198 strikeouts and had an ERA of .28.

    Congratulation ladies on a great record-setting season for Garner softball!

    I was surprised to see that nobody posted this.

    Ledford-4
    West Lincoln-1

    Murph pitched a great game, as usual.
    West Lincoln tried to come back in the bottom of the 7th, but only managed to scratch one.
    Overall, it was a pretty good game.

    It did get posted a few hours ago in the other thread for 2A playoff scores, maybe they should have put it both places. I've been checking both threads just in case...lol. You're right it was a pretty good game, Ledford obviously a well coached and disciplined team. They looked sharp in all they did. Too many mistakes for WL and couldn't get the bats going. But still managed to make a decent game of it. Congrats on the win and good luck the rest of the way!

    Trust me when I say...

    Before Murph leaves HS in 2 more years, she will be one of the most decorated, dominant pitchers to come through NC HS Softball in the last 10 years.

    Same category as C. Leonard, G. Allen, C. Cox, C. Orr, the girl from Washington (I am so sorry, I don't remember her name)...

    I believe Cox and Leonard are in a category all to themselves!!

    I am not trying to take anything away from the other girls mentioned, but those two just stanout to me.
