    Bulter vs AC

Butler has a great program. So much history between both schools ( 9 State Championships and I think 4 State Runner-up finishes - shared by the two schools) It is such a big game for both programs that the coaches do not want the field conditions to be a factor into the outcome. Like many of you, we have had close to 6 inches of rain this week. Tough going. The State will decide when the winner will play the Crest/Ardrey Kell winner. I saw in the Hickory Daily Record where St. Stephens and Roberson have asked the state for the 4th round game to be played on Monday....

My understanding is it was AC that would not play earlier on Tuesday, the Bulldogs requested the earlier game time. The Dawgs were stopped enroute on Wednesday and drove all the way on Thursday only to stopped by rain in Taylorsville. It would helpful if someone up there would check the radar or www.weather.com .

newcoach, I am actually a softball fan. AK, Butler, AC, N. Meck, Hopewell, and I could go on and on nameing 1A-2A-3A and 4A schools. I love to see a close competative game. Who wins doesn't really matter to me.

Lakeman, I'll say it again. The point is that just because a phone call is made because AC now have become weathermen as well as great coaches doent mean Butler is suppose to jump to attention and change everything. Its exam week in Charlotte and it takes a huge effort to contact all 15 players, coaches, parents, etc to make that kind of change and make that drive. Your is a ridiculous post when you dont know the facts. Still sounds like your covering in case you lose.

It's not AC's fault that it keeps raining. Yea you can watch radar but no one knows when it's going to rain or not. You could tell them not to come but if the storm goes around, then you're just going to be complaining about why they called it off. Maybe if Butler wasn't leaving at 1230 then AC could make a good judgement on what to do before Butler travels all the way up here.

What time do you suggest they leave? Butler coaching staff has decided this is the time they need to leave and be prepared for the game. Tough situation for all. Need to put in option plans after three days of traveling. Seems weather will be nice on Saturday, move two remaining games to one site with winners playing third game of the day for rights to go to Raleigh.

I'm not bashing on them. I'm just saying that can be an issue as well if people are going to blame AC for not watching the radar. That solution seems like it would work. It's supposed to be sunny all day on Saturday. It's an unfortunate situation and I do feel bad for the Butler coaches, players, and fans.
