That's the most ridiculous , childish thing I've read. Check the radar? Gimme a break. Call a game off because rain is on the way? Sounds like our Board of Education calling off school with snow "in the forecast"- then nothing happens. Was the field ready when you arrived on Tuesday and Thursday? Turned the bus around on Wednesday. Believe me- we want you city slickers on the field. Not many schools in the U.S. would have tried to play on Tuesday. By the way- I've watched the radar on all the TV stations from Charlotte- radars don't show the future, storms build anywhere and they fizzle out. Just be sure of one thing- win or lose- AC field crew has put more time into this one game than most schools do all year to their field.

 

Why is everyone trying to put blame on one school or coaching staff or the other?
AC and Butler are the only ones that know and understand what has transpired over the last four days and both Programs are fine with it, stuff happens some can be controlled and some like weather cannot, I don't think either team thinks they are at an advantage or disadvantage by what has happened.
Like Coach S said. Today we will finish a game between two of the top programs in the state, Both with a winning history and it will be one heck of a game. Whatever the outcome neither Coach will blame it on anything except being out scored by a good opponent, no shame there. So please stop the silliness, celebrate and respect the game and let two teams decide it on the field at Central Park

What are you talking about, in case I lose? I already told you that I don't have a favorite. If I was going to pull for any team it would be AK. It's not about weathermen and coaches....... it's about the team and their fans having to travel up and down the road in these tough economic times. Come on man, get a grip about what I am saying. There is no point in replying to this post. That's all for me.

Wow, and I thought I was the only person with a compassion for softball !! And as far as the rain goes get ready El Nino is coming back my friends, you haven't seen rain yet wait till later this summer, though the State will be over by then..Hopefully !!!

It's always good for a laugh to watch the back and forth on some of these threads.

Question for Butler fans or people with knowledge about Charlotte. Do that have open enrollment there? Meaning, it doesn't matter where you live in the school district, you can go to any school. I was told that, but wanted to get the facts.

 

I'd have to agree with you-The ballfield looked great. There's not a doubt that the field didn't hold up-Gee's it didn't rain but 6inches. I'm sure that BOTH COACHES decided to play at a later time-BOTH COACHES probably took inconsideration that their playing on one of the best and community maintained ballfields in Western N.C. and BOTH COACHES considered that the game(being both teams are defensively sound...including pitching) would not be a time consuming problem...50mins. into the game/top of the 5th-It was moving right along.

I'd really hate to think that someone would really use this for SOME PEE POOR EXCUSE! dealing with a win/loss situation...Both teams are excellant and talented programs. Reading what's been post, It seems to me that some viewer/readers are already making excuses .Please keep in mind, that BOTH COACHES agreed on the times and etc...with no control of mother nature.

IF YOU DO HAVE A COMPLAINT , PLEASE TAKE IT UP WITH YOUR COACH AND QUIT MAKING EXCUSES!

Open Enrollment - Not in CMS

No, you go to your home school, or a magnet if you get a spot in one through the lottery process. After the issues with football a couple of seasons ago, CMS has really cracked down on athletes and determining their eligibility. No saying you live with your "Uncle" anymore. Parent or guardian is responsible for signing an affidavit that says what your address is and they define that as where you sleep at night with your parent or legal guardian. Can't own two houses or any other tricks. Also, that affidavit they make you sign also says that you don't know of anyone else on the team doing any monkey business with addresses. So, much tougher to try to sneak a kid into any sport. Penalty if caught could be that your team forfeits their whole season.
