Is your son or someone you know getting the job done on the diamond in NC or SC? Are the showing the potential to play college baseball or one day take a shot at pro ball?

If so, they are invited to attend The Battle of the Border Talent Showcase on June 15th. As part of the Battle of the Border Showcase Games event, we are hosting a Talent Showcase for the top players in NC and SC. Along with the good folks at Carolinas Baseball Center and some of the top baseball people in Mecklenburg and York Counties, we have organized a great talent showcase. We are expecting a very large turnout of college coaches and pro scouts at Fort Mill High School on the morning of June 15th. Each prospect will be placed through a 3 hour skills camp session for evaluation by the coaches and scouts. This is a super opportunity to enhance your reputation with these all important people. We will have coaches from community colleges all the way up to teams in the College World Series. Every level of college prospect will benefit from the event. Amazingly there are still a few opportunities open for unsigned Class of 09 kids to play college baseball

We have worked hard to make this an educational, affordable and productive event.

If you are interested in one of the last few spots we have open, now is the time to act for only $95.00.

    Enrollment takes place at www.battleofthebordershowcase.com

Local baseball observers are welcome to come out that day as well and come on over to Winthrop for our Showcase Games on the 15th and 16th

We are working hard to make this a positive event.

Thanks to all the folks on TBR that have provided support and advice.

    Battle Border Showcase

I thought that the showcase was invitation only.

The skills camp/showcase is open to any HS player providing them a tremendous opportunity to be seen by scouts from all over.

The teams that will compete in 9 inning showcase games, NC vs SC, are by nomination and chosen by a selection committee. The teams Future Stars, Middle school all stars, SR Allstar teams etc are all by selection and invitation.

From the first line of my post:

"""Is your son or someone you know getting the job done on the diamond in NC or SC? Are the showing the potential to play college baseball or one day take a shot at pro ball?"""

Each enrollment is reviewed, I would venture to guess that 95% of the enrollees so far in the talent showcase have very easy to see college baseball talent. We are open to kids that have displayed this talent, just like I said in line one.

The Showcase Games portion of the Battle of the Border is a selection of the top travel and showcase team players.. Had to be nominated and chosen based on your ability displayed in showcase baseball over the summer and fall.

Would it be safe to say that to be picked for this team you are one of the starters for your High School team?

I'd like to make one point.

Although this is the first showcase of this magnitude, the behind the scenes work and organization has been phenomenal. Many events boast that they will be flooded with scouts and you find out that 3-4 actually attend.

But this is the real deal! The guys organizing this event have been working very hard to ensure they make happen what they are promoting. I'd like to mention that this endeavor is not a money maker, but an opportunity to provide an additional exposure for the players in the upper SC/ Charlotte area.

For the younger guys this will be the first opportunity to be involved in a Pro style workout while getting their name on the radar.

But just as important, this event will be professional, organized, supported and a lot of fun for the players participating.

I'm not involved in this in any way. Heck, I haven't even been offered free tickets. But I know the parties that are involved and they always do things first class.

    Rosters?

In regards to the Showcase Allstar Games to be held at Winthrop on the 15th and 16th: are the rosters for these games posted anywhere?

Not yet, but they will be formally announced by the South Charlotte Sports Report in the next week or so.
