Spartanball, the fence and distance is the same at Guy Smith for all players who step in the box to hit them out... tell your players to feel free to join in at any time tomorrow if its that easy...lol For some reason they just do seem to fly out of there as often as Urban Legend would have it...:trampoline:

Came out flat and stayed flat tonight. Congrats to Max on throwing a good game... he definately came to compete after throwing to Millbrook on Wednesday. Between him and Wolfe, I'd say Max looked more like your one guy. Impressive last 2 innings by Rose Junior non-pitcher Warren Harvey, K-ing 3 and not allowing a hit or walk.

Tomorrows another day and playing for it all... should be interesting pitching match ups... Scheduled for 2:eek:o PM first pitch! Be There! SHould be fun!

    Game 2 Rose at Sanderson

Sanderson rebounds vs Rose in convincing 8-3 win

Excuse me as I had to work today and could not write up game 1 - - Diesel and drncvol did a great job. The Spartan faithful were fatten up by Diesel’s recommendation at Abrahms, saw a great game with the Spartans taking a 3-0 lead but knew that Rose was going to make a move and did they. A move was made with the bats in a solid 6-3 win over Sanderson.

Good thing this is a best of three series and game 2 is at Sanderson Field.

Tonight Sanderson had an overflowing home crowd ready to cheer on their boys of summer in a must win situation. P Max Gagnon got the call to start on the hill and had Rose’s batters all twisted around for five plus innings. Got pulled in the 6th with two outs and bases loaded. Sr John McFarling came to the hill & Gagnon now became C Gagnon. McFarling closed out the game.

Through 5 2/3 innings, Gagnon struck out 8 batters and allowed one hit, Chase McDonalds single past first base in 4th inning. Gagnon did not have a walked batter until the top of the sixth when he was running out of gas. He hit Patrick Roy, walked Chase on a full count and hit Patrick Mobley. Time for a new pitcher.

Rose got three runs off 3 hits in the top of the seventh.

Sanderson scored in each of the first four innings for a 8-0 lead.

    WP -- Gagnon (7-2) -- 5.67 IP, 8 K’s 2 HB , 1 W, no runs.

Sanderson batters – Kyle Wigmore (1-3, SAC, rbi, 2 runs), Robert Brunson (1-4, run), Charles Wolfe (3-4, 3 rbi’s, run), Max Gagnon (1-4, dbl, rbi, run), Kyle Wood (0-2, 2 W, run), Jon King (1-4, rbi), Daniel Adams (0-1, W, HB, run), Sam Beavans (0-2, W, run) and Travis Trumps (2-2, W, run).

Rose batters -- Patrick Roy - he worked his a?? off behind the dish. Great defensive game was 1-2, HB, dbl, 2 rbi, Chase McDonald – what a fun kid watch play was 1-3, W. Warren Harvey (1-2, run), Tommy Houment (1-3, run), Grayson Parrott (0-2, W, run).

    Rose 000 000 3 3
    Sanderson 232 100 X 8

Now onto game three in a must win game for both teams.

Game time is 2:00 p.m. Guy Smith Stadium. See you in Greenville.

I'm sure Rose has the pitching left but what in the world does Sanderson have after Wolfe/Gagnon? We saw them twice this year and saw Gagnon each time. Seems like the box scores all year flip-flopped. If I remember correctly, Sanderson has a freshman RHP that looked good. Does a FR get the ball on this stage? Maybe Wigmore?

Good job by Sanderson beating an excellent Rose team! My hat's off to Max, Charles and Kyle for leading their team into the Championship series, they are excellent players, and more importantly excellent young men from awesome families! Good luck in the Finals!!
