You are correct. Mid night struck but what a ride.

Leading hitters for the Raiders, Timber Davenport with 2 hits, Elizabeth Johnson, Meredith Hill in her last game with singles Karley Harkey with a double and Taylor Rosenbalm with a single

Harkey took the loss on the mound. TC got a 3 run homer in the 4th and added 3 in the 5th to break it open.

as for the Raiders... I couldn't be prouder. To be in the ashes not to long ago and to be where we were today is just incredible and speaks volumes about the leadership in place, with Coach Harkey and the foundation that is there......SIX freshman , 3 sophomores 1 junior and 2 seniors made the trip to Asheville today. yeah we lost and believe me it stung more than I even thought it might, but hopefully this is just the beginning for these young ladies. Had you told me in February that the North Iredell raiders would be one of the final 8 3A teams playing in the state I would have taken it right then and not played a game. to quote an old FB coach....This year we knocked on that state door. Hopefully in the future we kick it in. Lots of work to be done, but its a great building block now. The Raiders are FINALLY on the faspitch map. Great job guys.

Also props to 2 seniors. Meredith Hill and Kasey Talley. Its tough to watch kids as they take what could be their last fastpitch at bats ever. It does end all to quick. good Luck guys and thanks for what you brought to the 2009 version of the fastpitch raiders. Everybody else.... get to work so we don't have to go back up in them mountains next year. Lets make them come to Olin HAHA.

And before I go Thanks to the fans, crowds got bigger and bigger as this thing went. Be ready to be back in late February and early march. See ya then......... On to summer ball .

Stick, if you had told me on May 1st after our game with NI, I would have done the same thing. Great season for the Raiders. They made the NPC proud!

    Proud of the Raiders.

I am so proud of these girls. They really pulled together as a team and took us on a great post season road trip. We were all hoping that our next trip on I-40 would be east bound instead of west bound but it wasn't to be this year. I can't wait to see what next year will hold for the Raiders. I know coach Harkey will be geared up and ready next Feb. and these girls will be hungry for more I'm sure. So now, we break out the coolers and pack the food totes and head out for a great travel ball season. Best of luck to seniors Meredith Hill and Kasey Talley. We will miss you both next year, but look foward to seeing what's in store for you after getting your walking papers form NIHS. Thanks again ladies for a great season.
