    Finally

I was a member of the last Sanderson team that made it to the State Champonship series. I am impressed with the direction that this program is going. I will be there for the series. Good Luck Spartans. Finish what we could not in 1992.

    Congrats to Sanderson

Down 1 game to 0. Come home and get a big win to even the series. Now you have to travel back to Rose and face ECU signee Tanner Merritt. Sanderson finds a way to get the W and move on to play for the State Championship. Sanderson is playing its best baseball at the most important time of the year. Congrats on a huge win for your program for yourself as players. Good luck next week.

    Sanderson kept grabbing the momentum!

This was a great game. Sanderson kept grabbing the momentum back from Rose when you thought Rose was getting ready for one of their patented comebacks. A key play in the game was when the Sanderson right-fielder (don't know his name) went high up on the outfield fence & caught a blast off the bat of Chase McDonald that would have surely scored 1 run for Rose. Another time, a Sanderson base-runner got into a rundown between 1st & 2nd, & prolonged it enough for a runner to score from 3rd! Sanderson had some key clutch hits as well. Sanderson hit the ball well,(10 hits off Merritt) & if not for some inning-ending double plays, Sanderson probadly would have scored more runs. It was that kind of game!

    I am relaxed now

Braves you are going to hate me for this but it has to be said.
With the series against Rose we had the absolute worst set of umpires you can ever imagine. Some of the calls that were made on both sides were out of control. Talking with the Rose parents they also agree. The players should not have games decided on calls where the umps have no clue what just happened. The NCSAA has to do a better job at picking their umps for these type of games (or how ever they are picked). This is not your typical non conference season game. The teams are playing for the top spot so they can compete in the state finals, but you have umps that are so out of sync with each other on the field. If you have the best teams playing on the field you should have the best group of umpires on the field. Sound like a good idea to me. I am sorry if I am stepping on anybody's feet here but this had to be said. After watching video of the last 3 games tonight with Rose it proved my point.

Patton Going to State Finals in Second Year of Baseball

What is amazing about this team is that this is the second year this school has even been around. Most of the kids were on the Little League All Stars, but they are not playing Little League any more. Their two seniors, Nick Newton and Reggie Washington were not on LL All Stars who went to World Series, but were big in Western Finals on Saturday night. Newton, who will be pitching with Catawba Valley Community College's new baseball team next season pitched 5 2/3 innings, picking up the win, and Washington, who is going to NCA&T on BB scholarship hit a two run homer to put team ahead 3-0. Mount Pleasant has a strong young ball team, and look for them to be back next year. Patton is coached by a young Brandon Scott, in just his second year as Head Coach. The Patton kids play with a lot of emotion, and their 7 junior starters should be super again next year. Good luck to Panthers in their trip to Raleigh, where they take on McMichael. This should be a good series.....Congrats, Panthers
