Lake Norman has had great pitching all year long and timely hitting. LKN was'nt as crisp on base running and decision making as it had been in the earlier series, against Tuscola, but hopefully that is out of their system now. LKN has looked extremely well on defense with great infield play lead by SS Kevin Gradert.

incase nobody knows LKN threw a sophomore(Taylor Thurber) yesterday to win the series. He threw 4 innings of 1 run ball. His first start for Varsity. Thats away to be thrown into the mix. LKN proved they can win without lomo so with lomo just makes them that much better. Better watch out for junior scottie williams, he's been lighting it up on the mound. also last 3 games big hits have come from bottom 3 in the order. Nick Keith got game winning hit against East Rowan, Tyler Lewis hit grandslam that gave LKN 6-2 win, and Nick Lomoscolo hit a bloop single to score the winning run in game 2 of series.

    Advice to Lake Norman

Make someone other than Wooten and Gourley beat you. They will if you let them! Two legit D-I players!

    Easier Said Than Done!

John Wooten always seems to come up to bat with the game on the line!
Coaches make the mistake of pitching to him. Those same coaches are at home right now tending their garden. Walker Gourley usually sets the table for Wooten & like Grayben said, he will beat you as well, if given the chance. A third very dangerous batter is catcher, Cambric Moye. He can go deep with the best of them! The rest of the line-up does a good job of getting on base. Josh Frederick, Jose Ponce, & others can also stroke base hits. This is a very dangerous offensive club that can hang 6-8 runs on you in a hurry! Lake Norman's pitching staff better have their A Games at Five County Stadium.

You are right. In second game, Northern Nash took the bat away from Wooten Every time he went to bat, and Gourley once. Yet, EW scored 11 runs. Ponce ends game 1 with a double to bring in winning run. Frederick starts off game 2 with a two run double. Moye hits one out in both games! They also had a freshman on the mound for the win for game 2

    Eastern Wayne.....

......has as good a starting eight as any team I have seen this year. Since I am a Greenville Rose parent, then that would include Providence, Rocky Mount, Pinecrest, Hoggard, Laney and Sanderson. What I am unsure of is what they have pitching wise outside of Wooten.

I agree...Eastern Wayne is the most talented team in the state. Wooten and Gourley are studs and should not be pitched against. In fact, Lake Norman might be better off not going to save the embarrassment.

    or

they can realize they played in arguably the toughest 3A conference where every conference game was against a tough opponent. Yet they finished the regular season and so far in playoff games with only two losses. They've been counted out more times than Joe Frazier..but somehow those little bitty guys from the lake seem to find a way to compete.

I agree with everyone's thought that LN stands no chance to compete against the most talented team in the state. I just hope LN shows up. And if they do show up that they don't get hurt
