4A Championship: Sanderson vs. Ardrey Kell

Raleigh Super-Regional?

This morning, my next door neighbor was real excited. He is a huge N.C. State fan. He was putting those State flags on his window & his tail-gating grill in the back of his car. I had to ask him what he was so excited about & he said he had tickets to the Raleigh Super-Regional series between State & UNC-Charlotte. I said, what super-regional? He showed me his tickets & sure enough, it did say Raleigh Super-Regional.














Upon further review I realized that the picture on the tickets was indeed the Raleigh Sanderson Spartans. I just didn't have the heart to tell him that this was the 4A Championship Series. He was so happy, I didn't want to spoil it for him. You know, even State fans deserve to be happy sometimes.

 

Game 1 Starter

My money is on Lover in Game 1, Game 2 Butler......That should do it!!

 

If Game 1 is postponed

Does anyone know the schedule for the weekend if Game #1 is postponed?

It's Sanderson! 2 games to 1!

I'm not pulling against Sanderson. No way! Last weekend, I attended the Rose/Sanderson game & I've had nightmares ever since. In the bottom of the fourth inning with Sanderson leading 2-1 & Preston Mobley standing on 2nd base for Rose, Warren Harvey of Greenville Rose lifted a high shot down the 1st base line that sailed over the outfield fence. The homeplate umpire, started walking slowly down the line, intensely studying the blast, knowing he had to proclaim whether it was fair or foul. Finally, after what seemed like minutes instead of seconds, the umpire gave the hand signal for home run. Now, I was sitting behind alot of Sanderson fans at the time & they all erupted in unison "It Was Foul"! Scared me to death. Well. I made the comment that the ball looked like it sailed over the foul pole & probadly was a home run. Not good! Within seconds, I was surrounded by a bunch of old ladies in red t-shirts, that asked me if I wanted to change my mind. They all had great big purses in their hands. Well, knowing I was out-numbered and those ladies weren't going anywhere until I said something, I proclaimed " Dang right, that ball was foul. That umpire needs his eyes checked." The biggest old-lady looked at me & said, "That's what I figured, too." Whew, that was a close call!

 

I've heard they are a rough crowd....
