    Megastars beat the Panthers last nite. Also CBC Diamond Rats 2010 beat South Charlotte Panthers on a walk-off, 2 run homerun in the bottom of the 7th today by Brad Zibedis, his 3rd HR of the tournament. Tyler Lewis, 2010 Diamond Rats, will be playing in the 3A State Championship with Lake Norman.

    great weekend of baseball

    Good games all weekend. On Deck 17's, Megastars 18's, Panthers and Diamond Rats all are solid.

    The 2010 Heat are pretty good as well from what was witnessed today. Beat the Megastars 18's 12-6. They got solid mound performances from Matt Reeves (Greer Riverside High), Casey Starbuck (East Forsyth) and Zack Hodges (Ragsdale). Among the top hitters: Home Run from OF Kyle Himler (Hopewell), two doubles from 3B-OF Matt Fernandez (Roberson) and double and single from 1B Chase Warren (Greer Riverside). Megastars were led by 7 K's by P John Kincaid (Charlotte Christian) and two doubles by OF Jonathan Hamlet, who had signed to attend Spartanburg Methodist College in the fall.

    2011 SC Panthers

    After their first game loss 11-3 to the Diamondrats the 2011 SC Panthers won the rest of their games. Scores and WP:
    SCP 8 Heat 0 (WP Lou Trosch went the distance)
    SCP 10 OPOrange 2 (WP Nick Silva with Taylor Reeves finishing)
    SCP 20 OPBlack 5 (WP Peter Hendel with Jackson Campania finishing)

    In the loss to the Diamondrats the Panthers were up 3-1 until the sixth when the roof caved in and they gave up 10 runs. After that their bats woke up and their pitching/defense was solid.

    The Watauga Pioneer's playing mostly with guys that played on the JV team this past season, except the freshman that was on varsity, went 3-1 on the weekend.

    Watauga beat the On Deck O's 15U Orange 8-7
    Watauga lost the On Deck O's 16U Black 3-5
    Watauga beat the Charlotte MegaStars 15U Black 7-5
    Watauga beat the On Deck O's 15U Black 7-3

    Box Scores are attached. Great weekend of Baseball at Watauga High Field. Pretty awesome sight for WHS and it speaks well for the future.

    16u Diamond Rats finished the weekend undefeated.
    13-1 over On Deck orange
    13-6 over On Deck black

    17u beat the SC Panthers last night in bottom of 7th with a walk off

    Impact Event at Wilkes CC

    Just in from the games this weekend and I was totally impressed with two pitchers:

    Justin Manning Holly Springs HS playing for the Carolina Cubs
    Ryan Mas Butler HS playing for Carolina Twisters

    Both came in relief were unhittable....Justin came in with bases loaded no out a preserved a 2-2 as he got a batter to pop up and struck out the other two batters.

    Canes South 16 defeated the On Deck O's Black by a score of 2-1 today.

    Charlotte Heat 16u defeated On Deck O's Orange by a score of 7-0 today.

    On Deck 17u defeated Diamond Rats 17u by a score of 9-3 today.

    Pitching Well...

    Ryan Mas of Butler HS
    Cody Stull from Grace Academy

    Both have pitched well to start for the Twisters, this showcase season.

    Ryan pitched very nice against the Lake Monsters- 5 innings 4Ks, 2 runs
    Cody got his 2nd win against the Dirtbags 17u with 4ks no runs no hits in relief. Thats 2 wins for him against the Dirtbags he had 8Ks last weekend.

    Not bad for those two to start this season of showcase.
