Good coverage. The articles covered each level and were very thorough. Good job.

Now, if you could, throw a few pictures in there. While you're at it increase the coverage during regular season. A few calls to AD's will get you the information you need.

Note to coaches: the News & Observer cannot provide good coverage if they don't get the information from your games during the season. There seems to be a tendency not to send information in if you lose a game.

Athletic Directors: Insist on coaches keeping the news media informed.

The more publicity the games get the greater the attendance. And more kids will be interested in playing the sport. EVERYONE needs to be a PR person!

    keeping the media informed

It should be part of a coaches job to call their scores and any details needed by the media (win or loss). The N&O is not our hometown newspaper but, I send in the scores they print them. Thanks Tim!

I agree with that. Your local newspaper gives you and your kids good coverage.

The News and Observer is a very good newspaper and does a great job normally covering high school and college sports. They did make something of a glaring error in Saturday morning's edition. They printed that Chelsea Wilkenson did not pitch the game against Fuqua Varina in the State 4A Softball Championships for Alexander Central. She pitched every inning over the weekend for the Champs.

    Thank heaven!

I'm glad you posted this. I watched the FV/AC game. I know I'm old but hoped my perception and/or memory was not completely shot!
