SMAC 3a/2a Conference

    Football season is almost here.What are some predictions on what the finish will be.Here are my preseason picks.

    1.Shelby- Seems to reload every season. A Down year for them is usally 8-3.
    2.RS Central- Have a lot of talent returning.Have greatly improved every year lately.Could possibly overtake Shelby for First.
    3.Patton- Team finished 3-8 last season.Core of the team is back from last year.Was in almost every game last season till late.Play very hard and are well-coached.Coach Adkins has these kids believing in themselves and believing they can win.The players have been ready for football to start back since last november as well as the coaching staff.
    4.Freedom- Have been though 3 down years lately.Have a promising qb in Marcus Kincaid if he stays.How they respond to the new coach will be a key for them.
    5. East Rutherford-New Coach.Have been down past couple of years.Seems to always have the athletes to surprise some teams.
    6. Chase- Seems to be improving every year.
    7. Burns-Usally have a ton of athletes.Had a down year last year in 1-10,Have a new coach as well.

    I think in the first year Freedom and Patton will be challenged in this new conf...the Rutherford County Schools and Shelby have too many athletes IMO. If I was to make a prediction it would be...

    1. Shelby
    2. East Rutherford
    3. R-S Central
    4. Patton
    5. Chase
    6. Freedom
    7. Burns

    So Freedoms going down to a 2A/3A conference and they're STILL gonna suck? Geesh.

    I miss the old 4A days (of the 70's) when they were in a conference with Asheville, Hunter Huss, Ashbrook and Hickory and they were always in the top 3 in the conference when the season ended.
