    D-Rats prevail 9-8

The CBC Diamond Rats 2011 rallied twice from 2-run deficits to defeat the Colorado Black team 9-8. The Rats' bats were active and every hit was needed to overcome a pesky team from Colorado. Spencer Allison (Weddington) came in to pitch 3 1/3 innings of solid relief and Branden Loren (Marvin Ridge) pitched the closing two innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win (4 K's)

    Team Colorado Black................. 8...8...0
    CBC Diamond Rats.................... 9..15...1

    Leading hitters:

William Frazier 4-4, RBI (Charlotte Country Day)
Brett Cash 3-4, triple, RBI (Wren HS, Anderson SC)
LJ Newman 2-4, double 4 RBI (Wren HS, Anderson SC)
    Ethan Garrett 2-2 (Central Academy)
    Matt Pearson 2-4 (Charlotte Christian)

Rats are 2-1 heading into the next round.....

Forgot to mention the game-winning RBI. Tyler Byrnes (2012 Olympic) drove a 2-2 pitch deep into CF to score the winning run in the bottom of the seventh on a SAC fly.
