Like I have said many times, Chase is not a power hitter but a hitter who has power. He led Rose in homeruns of course, but I think he had highest batting average as well. I also think his strikeouts for the season were in single digits. The kid can hit and I will not be shocked at all seeing him one day playing professional baseball. It has been an honor for me watching him develop these last ten years.

He also has a great mom but just a so so dad. Hey no family is perfect. :laugh4: (This also may be my last post on TBR cause Diesel may just squash me like a bug).

Hey, go easy now....lol...thank you for the "kind" words, but there is a lot of hardwork ahead just to put turf under cleats! CUSA competition is no joke! With the caliber of great players that Coach Godwin and staff are recruiting and bringing in, gotta get your game right to get a shot at PT! Hoss realizes the road ahead and knows he's gotta work hard.

I will say he is very grateful, excited and humbled by the opportunity that has been afforded him. It's quite humbling when you think of all the players that have worn that Pirate uni in the past/present. It's an exciting time, to say the least. I just know he has the desire and focus to be part of a great tradition at ECU and is looking forward to a solid Senior season at JHR.

Now, lets go to the thread on Erin.... where the real attention is needed...lol

    Sorry, Diesel!

Ya see, my son (Karl #2) is a rising Junior at ECU, and he has informed me that he is not graduating until the Pirates make it to Omaha. So forgive me for getting excited whenever ECU gets a big-time committment. Now, I realize that puts alot of pressure on Coach Godwin & the Pirates the next 2 years, but that's the way it's got to be. I've got my youngest son (Karl #3) graduating in 2010 from HS, so I need everything to fall in line. The Pirates are very close to Omaha right now, so I don't think there will be any problems.:cheers2:

I am just glad ECU has started to look at locals again. With Mark Wilder in 2008, Tanner Merritt this year and now Chase next year, that is good to see. I thought I had Coach Godwin convinced that Paul was worthy of a walk-on but the gun don't lie....lol! Paul's dorm room at UNC is overlooking the baseball field (left center field) so he will put a target up for Chase to hit (assuming ECU & UNC keep a home & home).

Karl I don't know where you live but I get four season tickets to ECU football every year. Since my #1 son is a rising sophmore at ECU, he sits with the student Pirate club instead of with good ole dad. My #2 son is going to UNC this fall as a freshman. That leaves me with extra football tickets. If you ever need an extra ticket or two (or 3 or 4 because I can't make every home game) for a certain home game, let me know.

Condrads to Chase and the MacDonald family. Coach Godwin and ECU are off to a great start on the signing class of 2010 pulling Chase McDonald and Austin Blake. These two guys are sure to amke an impact as early as their Freshman year. With continue success of these type of commmitments the Pirates are sure to be in Omaha.

    Congrats to an awesome kid

This thread is about my 3 favorite kinds of people:

    1) A stud hitter

    2) A sketchy dad

    3) A super hottie

Here's a few 2010 names coming to ECU:
Austin Blake, 3B / MIF, 6-0/165, Regan HS
Jonathan Holt, OF, 6-1/185, West Forsyth HS
Austin Chrismon, LHP, 6-3/210, Menchville HS (Newport News, VA)
Chase McDonald, 1B/3B, 6-4/240, JH Rose HS
PLUS Corey Kemp's "little" brother, who's name I can not remember, but is a stud football player too out of VA. Is an OF, but also understand he does a little catching...I dunno...

Rookie Davis has also committed, but he is a 2011.

There may be others, I dunno... and with my memory, I am sure I am missing somebody...and I apologize in advance if I did!
