    Congrats to the Rage...

I am sure there are some teams that might disagree with this assessment...

    Training umps durning this tourney

Seems the director of umpires thought this was a good place to train umps as well. There were numerous complaints about this happening. There was also a huge uproar when the 8 o clock bracket games had different rules then the bracket games that were played earlier. Seem the tournament director changed the rules and made the 2 8pm games drop dead with out notifying the teams that were playing. One of the umpires that was in training this weekend was allowed to call this game and made numerous blatant errors. The pride tournament isnt a place to be training the umpires

agree with that statement. training should of been done long before this event.

Was still a good tourney. Kama does a good job of organizing this event.

Overall, I'd say this was a good tourney. I totally agree that showcase tourney's are not the place to train umpires. My DD's team was involved in at least 2 games with umpire trainees and the game/teams/girls suffered because of it.

Does it really matter in a "showcase" tournament? Trying to create reflection here; not adversity. If you're truly showcasing everything fits. And then the most important thing is being organized and staying on schedule.

    Training Umps

They were also training and grading umpires at the Early Bird and things went well if you ask me. In our last game we had a Great Umpire, a Good Umpire, and obviously and umpire in training(behind the plate). I had no problems because there was a Great umpire who knew the rules and kept the game in check. If it is done right, then the training can work properly. I was not at the Pride tourney, so I can't comment on that.
