A Great Cause--I need some help

    There is a High School team that I have adopted. This team has nothing...but some baseballs.

    Some of the players don't have cleats, gloves and their uniforns are so old that I believe Stretchy used them in his Cooperstown trip 10 years ago.

    Now having said that they have some very good players (one has committed to a D1 program) and a lot of players with raw talent. It's just a crying shame in an environment that we are trying to draw more interest in the sport that a HS can't even provide adequate uniforms.

    What I'm trying to do is to lift the spirits of the players and have them play with some pride, not embarrassment.

    This particular school can use everything---from gloves, to bats, shoes, uni's and equpment (bat bags too.) It's nice to help out foreign countries, but we have some extreme cases in our own backyard. Players borrowing gloves and each other's bat and some not having shoes (so they don't come out for the team.)

    I challenge all of you to help me get this school in proper uniforms and help build some pride in their program. Everything will help! The coach is a member of this board and I told him we have members that are very giving, so please guys....help out!

    So far we are off to a good start, but we need a lot more...there is nothing we can't use

    TBR Challenge

    After speaking with my personal banker/advisor (she lurks but does or post) Diamond Rat and I have come up with $100.00. I officially challenge all of our members to meet or beat us!!!! If we do cash, and one of our members that is involved in the sporting goods industry could help with pricing, I bet we could outfit varsity and jv.

    That's what I am talking about. Hats off to you Dirty Mo....and blueeagle7 matched you. And we have a member that does embroidery work that has offered to help....can probably get uni's at a great price

    Tom, Carrie and I talked, we will give the uniforms to the team for our cost and we will try and get some sponsors to cover that. just tell them to go to www.teamworkathletic.com and select the uniforms they want. she said she will work on a sponsor for underarmour. I will talk to gary from New South Athletics about shoes. He's a great guy and i'll see what he has in inventory(it will be old inventory, but new shoes). just pm me some sizes. call me monday at work.

    but no matter what, anything they need clothing wise, we will give at cost and carrie said she will embroidery/screen print for free....

    I've got some old 11" yellow softballs that are kinda close to a baseball if ya want them............j/k
