    is this a trick thread?

Lets see....in 2 years....Worth Liberty Glove $180, Demarini bat $295, assorted bags, gloves, pads, shoes, socks, mouth pieces, game face, batting gloves, sun screen $300 to $500, hitting lessons $2500, batting cage practices $750, camps/clinics $1000, team fee's (not including gas, hotels, food, picnic lunches) $850 (501K non-profit is nice for tax deductions), knee operation $1500 with benefits (complete ACL reconstruction surgery + physical therapy runs about $40,000 total - not including time off from work to go and the gas twice a week to PT), cash for admissions, drinks and food (not from home) $40 to $60 a weekend..... gas to and from practices depending on what you drive and how far $____.....i think that about covers it. LOL!....my DD says, "...at least your stimulating the economy Dad..." Looking back we probably could have spread those expenses out over at least a couple more years, but my DD got started late and had some catching up to do.

....I can say this about softball just based on me and mamas outpouring of funds.....wait I'll back up and add to the list of people who helped pay for our DDs to play, grandmama, and grandmama, and granddaddy, and granddaddy, and the dentist, and car dealers and people who bought raffle tickets, and folks who bought BBQ, and many, many more!
Did it cost our family 300-400 a weekend to go to a tournament? Yep!
And it was damn well worth every penny. Softball v. soccer v. baseball v. AAU basketball COSTS will be about the same.

E.G. Going to a ASA or USSSA or USFA national tournament for softball at the Disney Complex in Orlando, say for 10 days for a family of 4, will run $3000.
I promise you TBR, most of that cost per kid was raised during the season and the parents did not strike a check for anywhere near that amount.
    What a cool trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Costs con't past travel ball

I logged 10,000 miles on my Toyota highlander used exclusively for softball trips this spring. There were also flights to Palm Springs and Long Island and food and lodging for 14 consecutive weekends on the road. I have no idea what we spent but it was worth every last penny.
