    Congratulations to Karley Harkey and Timber Davenport for being selected "All County" from the North Iredell Raiders. Very deserving for these 2 freshman that have helped to lead the Raiders out of the softball grave. Also a mention for Taylor Rosenbalm who was "honorable mention" after changing positions halfway thru the year. Had she stayed at her original spot she might be on this list also..

    More props to Karley who was selected County "player of the year". Pitching every game for the Raiders, striking out 208 batters and hitting .507. Quite a feat, but very deserving, even considering the excellent talent in this county.

    Congrats also to some of my "storm" players Devin Poff and Kasey Kerley from South Iredell and Ellen Stout of West Iredell. Thats the entire All County outfield. Great job Ladies and Good Luck to Kasey Kerley as she moves on to Belmont Abby.

    Congratulations to Karley and Timber, they are both well deserving! Taylor also, in my opinion, should have been selected but what can you do? Congrats to the other Storm players who made it too! Keep it up.

    All County ?

    Will someone out there please explain to me and others in layman's terms(in other words don't give me a web-cite) how all -conf all- county and so on works. This is my question, how does a girl not make all-conf or all-county and make all state as well as how does a girl make all-conf and all-state and get hon. mention in all-county and then how does a girl get all-conf. and all-county and not get all state, there is something missing somewhere. Please explain, I honestly don't understand it sounds a little something, can't think of the word. Thank you

    I believe it is caused by not having statewide standards for selecting all-conference, etc. Also, it sounds like a voluntary process as to whether or not a name is even submitted for all-district. The way I understand the rule is that all-state is selected from all-district--not from all-conference, all-county, or whatever.

    Maybe the association requiring coaches to attend the Greensboro clinic (which is a good thing) could enforce having coaches turn in a nomination form whether they nominated any player or not. There is a fine for not attending the Greensboro clinic which is enforced against the school. We could have that same type of enforcement for a number of desired objectives.

    Congratulations to Karley, Timber, and Taylor for their accomplishments with North Iredell Softball and receiving their awards. Way to go Karley on being named "Iredell Player of the Year" as a freshmen. You all shine on the high school field and you shine on the travel ball field too!:jump:

    Congratulations to the Lake Norman players Stacey Houser, Kayla Pine and JoBeth Wright for being selected to the All-County team. Also, to Arin Hall for honorable mention. Way to go ladies!
