    Intent of the Thread

Since I started the thread, I wanted to state the intent of it. It had nothing to do with who was playing in the Greenville, SC qualifier or who came back from college to help a team qualify.

This thread has EVERYTHING to do with how many teams are representing NC on the national stage, how they got there, and wishing them good luck on their journey.

I do wish NC could send more teams, like other states, but love watching the ingenuity of the teams who find other ways to qualify besides winning the NC ASA State Championship Tournament.

I've heard of teams going to all kinds of different states trying to steal their berths. Personally, I think that's cool...

All other tourneys aside.....to me, the ASA USA Nationals are the coolest!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS! Give 'em heck.

Rob I do understand what you are talking about and The Sundevils did a great job at the Qualifier in SC. I think what everybody was talking about was at the States in Burlington. Good Luck

    Going to Vegas!

My DD's 18U team is from Lynchburg Va. (Blue Ridge Sudden Impact) and they won the Region 3 Qualifier in Roanoke Va. at the Botetout Sports Complex (very nice place to play) this past weekend. Now we have to find $$$ so Dad can go too! I will be pulling for the NC teams and 1 Va. team.

    Only time

This is the only time I will address college players playing with the Blues as it is up to what a team wants to do and is no concern to anyone else. Making it to Nationals is a goal of Blues every year (6) and this is the first year, we used multiple college players (2)! If we get to Nationals, we are guaranteed 8 games for our kids to get seen by college coaches which gives them many more opportunities to get recruited as that is always our goal! Is it not for Sun Devils, Cobras, Cardinals, Storm, and many others? Yea as we all want these young ladies that want to play college ball, play college ball as that is what we all sell, right? Over the years, we have planned at least a year in advance and sometimes two as we want to keep cost down while providing a quality product. Value is the name of the game and I am sure all travel teams try their best to provide value. The coaches at UNC wanted their players to play a couple tournaments and that is all they played. We have 1 2009 with us in Boulder and all the rest are 2010 and 2011, we were the youngest team in 18U in Boulder and Nationals last year so I guess we did it right, didn't we? By the way in Boulder more than half will have college players on their team, we have them on our roster as well as it is an ASA roster but they are not here. Hopefully, we will play well enough to continue attending as we are the only NC team left.

Rodney, as long as I have been around this sport, the successful 18u teams have always had a college player or two on them. my comments were directed to showcase tournaments, which i put in the wrong thread. in no way was i directing this opinion at any team. good luck out west, i hear you have a very good team....

    Roster???

Can I ask who were are talking about? Can you post the roster of these teams,as I too like to follow the teams and this sounds like a great accomplishment for all the teams going to nationals. I follow HS and college so would be interested in seeing who gets to go to the national tournaments. Rosters for all of the ages and coaches. thanks
