Rowan is ahead of Stanly County 6-0 thru 4. Russell Michealac and Zach Smith went back to back yard in the 1st and then again in the 4th. Both of Michealac's blasts were 2 run homers. Rowan has 10 hits thru 4 to lift their team BA to .375. Corbin Shive is on the hill for Rowan.

Very impressive win for Rowan as Shive holds Stanly to four hits to earn the win. Russell Michalec and Zach Smith were outstanding tonight to lead Rowan. Turning point of the game was in the first inning when Stanly had a runner get thrown out at third by Rowan catcher Austin Shull when he took too big of a lead. That really hampered their chances of scoring to draw first blood. The next batter flew out to left field that would've scored a run. Once again, very impressive win for Rowan County as they take a 1-0 series lead to Albemarle Thursday night. Billy Veal should get the start for Post 342.

Corey Dick had two hits for Stanly.

    Good game tonight for Rowan
Rowan opened the first with a two run homer by Russell Michalec, then Zach Smith followed with a solo homerun. They did it again in the third with Michalec's two run homer and Smiths Solo shot. Rowan cruise from there to a seven inning 10-0 victory from there. Rowan will travel to Stanly tomorrow looking to take a commanding 2-0 lead in this best of five series.

    Mooresville 8
    South Rowan 5

South Rowan made 5 errors and left probably 13-15 guys on base against one of the best pitchers in the Area (Lomascola) and still had a chance to win with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 9th, but a popup to short ended the game. Mooresville led pretty much the whole game and South couldn't get any big hits. Mooresville steals home-field advantage and leads 1-0. South will now have to win at Mooresville at least once in this series.
