Legionguy, I'm certainly not implying the Mooresville folk did anything wrong, hey they're good people up there, I know many of them, and I know they would've worked their butts off to get that field ready if they had to, I've seen them do it.

All I'm saying is that while its up to the home team to make these deicisons (play or postpone) during the reg.season, I would like to see this rule changed to where a "neutral" official made the call during the playoffs, thats all. Because quite frankly during the playoffs, when you only have X number of days to get in a series, if a team wins Game 1, they are in the driver's seat in so many ways. And nobody should ever gain any advantage from a simple rainout, thats all.

TJ, I know the commish was not happy last night, he sent out a pretty seething email about working on fields and calling games early. He also said no game can be cancelled or re-scheduled w/o his approval. Now that all sounds well & good, but he is not at the fields to see their conditions.

Tools, I'm sure the commish wasn't happy,,, Jim's done a fine job, and he knows that if he gets involved and makes a ruling, any ruling, whatever his ruling will be isn't going to set well with one side or the other. Hopefully the games will decided on the field.

I agree with the part about a neutral person needs to help in making the decision to cancel games, just because if there is any way possible to get these playoffs games in, it needs to be done because they only have so long to get them in. I know earlier in the year when Rowan's game at Mooresville got ppd. and someone said that it wasn't really that bad wet over there at all. I hate that we have to through these kinds of accusations around like this but it does make you wonder.

    Series tied 1-1

    Stanly County 5
    Rowan County 4

A two-run homer and a solo homerun by Corey Dick prove to be the difference in a series tying win for SC. Rowan jumped on top 1-0 in the top of the first but left the bases loaded. Rowan left way too many base runners on tonight and struck out looking way too many times. Rowan starter Billy Veal allowed four runs and reliever Cody Laws gave up the solo homer to Dick in the bottom of the eighth. Not sure who the pitcher was that came in relief (for Stanly), but he had some good stuff. Rowan will try and make the series swing back in their favor Saturday night as they play at Newman Park. Forrest Buchanan may get the start for Rowan.

High Point sweeps 3-0. Ethan Ogburn got the win for the Hi-Toms. The boys are playing sharp in the playoffs.

    They await the S-Rowan/Mooresville winner.

Mooresville beat South 10-4 to take a 2-0 lead.

South had 14 hits but once again couldn't get the clutch ones. Mooresville did get its share of 2 out hits. That was the difference, just as it was in game 1.

High Point got the great benefit of missing Tyler Coyle...but take nothing from High Point, they are playing great at the right time of the year and have some great hitting and great arms. They are going to be well rested for the next round and a big to the state tournament on the line.
