    College Prospects...

...there are several but the NCAA does not like it when I comment on recruits...other than to say....I saw a lot of talented kids in the tournament....

So, Coastal Plains get to play the host team first and if they are fortunate enough to win, get to play the historically talented team from Alabama. Should be a fun week.

Triangle PLayed the Alabama Raw Dawgs Last Year

Whew! ... is all I can say. They drove up like a college team...khaki pants, Raw Dawg polo shirts...with a swagger to match their play. Every pitcher was 89 - 94.

Batting order 1-9 could flat out hit....not a defensive weakness....all that said....they did not win Nationals last year.

We have played them at the 16u level five or six times over the last ten years with mixed results. There league does things a little different than we are allowed. One year in particular we lost to them in the "if" game at the University of South Alabama. The newspaper the next day of course had a big article on them winning and moving on to the world series. There record for the summer 54-7. We had played 11 games and been together for a little over 3 weeks. We later found they had a tryout, picked 18 players, placed them on two 9 player babe ruth teams. They would scrimmage / play there league games one night a week and travel on the weekends.

    Diesel......

...your son (and Tanner) came by the office today and hit me up for some money to help with the expenses for Coastal Plain. I wish Paul had played this summer and was going with them but his shoulder, which hampered him the last two months of the Rose season (he didn't tell me until after the season was over), is still bothering him so he didn't play Sr. Babe Ruth. Needless to say, with the donation, your fee for an eye exam (if I can ever get you into the office) just went up. :REDanceBanana008:

    Another outstanding performance....

Ok....lets give credit where credit is due. Lumber River, Triangle, and Coastal Plains all had great teams but there was another great team I saw out in the field that weekend. Crystal Coast had an extremely well put together offensive team. They had 2 kids hit 3 homeruns a piece and another kid hit 2. Both games they lost were by one in extra innings to Lumber River and Triangle. This team was also the team that had to play at 2 in the morning, and then compete in a double header the next day. All things aside, Coastal Plains had a great team and were very deserving of the championship, but I would have loved to seen them play the Crystal Coast team in the final games. :D

    Rawdogs are a Class Act

    :lolly:
Why would you say that, Babe ruth would not allow any team to chose from around state. Sounds like sour apples to me
