Umpire needs to hang it up

I attended both games in Cary for the Cary/Durham series, and the umpire both nights in the field was the same person. He was AWFUL. Can't believe the call he made to end the game with Durham rallying to tie the game. Even the area commissioner walked by our stands and could not believe how bad his entire evening was, especially the last call to end the game.
These kids put too much time and effort in it for an ump to come and go through the motions for his 75 dollars. The ump should be ashamed of his performance (or lack thereof) and shouldn't get any more bookings.

So you've never been to a game where officials mess up and are too much in the way? I need to come with you. Or maybe you're just looking to argue with someone and I got ALL night.

 

Just got in from the game (and a few therapeutic adult beverages); and while the field ump struggled, I would hardly say he needs to hang it up. I wouldn't care if I didn't see him for a while, but whatever. I won't see him until at least next May anyway.

You are getting a bargain..Costs $80.00 in area 3 & 4 maybe he feels like he was not getting all his pay

You have to admit, no matter how terrible the officiating is, you never see the winning team complaining the following day about the umpires.

Btw, I've also seen a few that needed to hang it up, and if it makes you feel any better, the worst ones usually don't last.

Oh yea, and that $80/game for each ump, goes up to $90/game beginning next year...

 

$90 per game, that is too much, maybe time to start complaining.
