I'll be at the coaches clinic and meeting on Thursday as well. I hope the NCHSAA does go with 43 ft. this year insteaad of next. I have a feeling though they will just until they have to change.

i wonder if they will make it a matter of choice this year per conference. i was told that was a possibility. now thats gonna be confusing at the end of the year.....

Yes that would be very hard for the girls if playoffs were different than what they played all year. and teams play teams from other conferences during the regular season what would be the decision then. I hope they push it for this year for everyone

That will not happen. With NCHSAA it will be all or none. My guess is we will be pitching from 43 in 2010.

    Wait?

Why in the world would they wait? If it's coming in 2010 what sense would that make?

Didnt they adopt metal cleats at the first opportunity?

43 will hurt the weakest teams but will give the better teams a chance against the best teams.
Pitcher domination will be reduced with the longer distance.
Defense will have to be better as there will be more hitting.

This is the 2009-2010 season; next season is 2010-2011.

I believe we are approaching the Fall 2009 Season, then Spring 2010, then Fall 2010, etc.
