Even though they sent us home, I gotta give credit where it's due.

Mooresville appreciates the comments. These kids were pretty determined the 2nd half of the season.

Mooresville beats Rutherford 7-1 to win NC State Championship. Mooresville's Nick Keith name tournament MVP with 2 decisive wins. Hunter Nanney, Kyle Phillips and Chris Dula named to all tournament team.

Mooresville now has 2008 runner up and 2009 championship. Alot of the same kids celebrated both.

Congrats to Mooresville Jr. Legion team on a great season and bringing home another State Championship to the area. Also congrats to Kyle, Hunter and Chris on their "All-tournament" selections. A big congrats to Nick Keith for being a big part of 2 State Championship teams in one year and his tournament MVP selection. He just as easily could have been an MVP selection for Lake Norman High's 3A State Championship team as well !:woot:

Nope, sorry it was announced after championship game. 4 from Mooresville, 4 from Rutherfordton and then some from the east and west teams. If you contacted Mr. Waters or the East/West Director they probably have a list.

Congrats to Mooresville. They had the team out on the field before the Rowan/ Mooresville senior game last night. Looked like a great bunch of kids. Congrats again!

i recall the first season we fielded a jr. legion team. my son was on that team. we played home games at lake norman high school and traveled all over the piedmont. it was new, but the kids got to play ball against good competition instead of waiting around for football or fall ball to start up.

baseball has come a long way here in mooresville the last few years. i credit the parents, and coaches for developing a strong program, one that allows these young men to compete at a high level. but i also want to commend the players. alot of things can serve as distractions during this period in their lives. if you want to be the best, you have got to work your tail off, no matter what.

congratulations to the moorsville jr. legion team. those of us here in mooresville sure are proud of you.
