You can use either hunting dog or Geese repellant. According me, Geese repellant is the right choice.

I don't know what the term is (outside of audio repellent), but there are two repellents that I am aware of:

    - Distress calls
    - Automatic exploders, also known as propane cannons, make a loud noise without discharging a projectile. One exploder may protect up to 25 acres (10 ha) under ideal conditions. The rate of firing is manually adjustable; exploders should be set to fire about every 5 to 10 minutes. Reduce waterfowl habituation and increase the effectiveness of exploders by mounting them on turntables so the cannon rotates a few degrees with each firing. Turn exploders off after dusk and on at dawn to reduce neighbor complaints and bird habituation and to save on fuel. Clock timers or photocells are available for this purpose.

    Trying to find help

For East Forsyth. HS. I have been by the pass few day and and man. They have a problem. It is over run. They have done such a great job keeping the geese away. But, they do have a big problem. Not sure if it is spreading but beware and take precautions.

    discouragement.

In the world of pest management you have to be more creative than just throwing "methal ethyl death" at them.

Most people want a "do easy" chemilcal solution to pest management. Chemical discouragement works sort of.

I break this down to "discouragement."

Likely these animals have found a refuge in a place like downtown Charlotte.

Find them a new place to hang.

There are many more effective management techniques than chems, fishing line, and wires, etcc.

BTW everyone knows they have wings right?

I haven't seen this field, but field dogs might be a good solution.

Course this would be GREAT off season "speed" training for a ball team.

    More suggestions

    WILD GOOSE STEW
2 wild geese (or other wild game)
    1 tsp. salt
    Pepper
    1 1/2 sticks butter
    1 pkg. onion soup mix
    2 c. boiling water
    2 c. diced carrots
    1 c. diced celery
8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced (or 2 - 4 oz. canned mushrooms)
    1 chopped onion
    3 cans mushroom soup
    1 can water

Debone the geese and cut into pieces. Brown the meat in 1/2 stick butter; season with salt and pepper. Prepare the soup mix and water as instructed on the package. Saute the carrots, celery, onion and mushrooms in 1 stick butter. Combine all into a kettle, add the mushroom soup and water; simmer about 2 hours. No one will guess that they are eating wild geese!

    WILD WATERFOWL ORANGE
    2 ducks or 2 geese
1 (3/4 oz.) pkg. brown gravy mix
    1/4 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. hot water
    2 tbsp. orange marmalade
1 (16 oz.) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed

Combine all ingredients in large (14 x 20 inch) oven cooking bag. Place bag in 2 inch deep roasting pan. If birds are fatty stick skin with fork. Add fowl to bag, turning to moisten. Close loosely with tie, about 2 inches from fowl. Makes (6) 1/2 inch slits in top of bag. Roast for 2 1/2 hours or until tender. Pour sauce into bowl and skin excess fat. NOTE: Goes really well with wild rice.

    WILD GOOSE
    6-8 geese
    6-8 lb. goose
Salt, pepper, poultry seasoning to taste
    8 med. unpeeled baking potatoes
    2 (8 oz.) 7-Up or Sprite
    8 med. carrots
8 sm. unpeeled baking apples, cored
    Sugar
    Raisins

Place prepared goose in large roaster; season inside and out with salt, pepper and poultry seasoning. Pour in 7-Up; lay potatoes, carrots and apples around goose. Place 2 tablespoons sugar and 10 to 12 raisins in each apple. Place cover on roaster; bake 2 to 3 hours in 400 degree oven. Serves 8
